Boundary Input Form Open 

Lake Washington School District is working now on adjustments to school attendance boundaries, to go into effect next fall. If you missed the public input meeting for our area, the boundary input form for the Redmond Learning Community is open online through December 15. Information and maps for the different scenarios under consideration are posted on the district website (http://www.lwsd.org/News/Reboundary/Pages/default.aspx). The link to the online input form is on the same page of the website. Please take a few minutes to review the information and provide feedback to the boundary committee by the deadline.

Volunteer Needed for Safe Arrival

Safe Arrival is looking for someone to help out the first and third Tuesday of each month at 9 am. It entails checking the safe arrival voicemail messages and making a few phone calls for unexplained absences.

If you have about 30 minutes to spare on Tuesday mornings and would like to volunteer, please e-mail Kimberly at kfurdell@gmail.com. Thanks!

**NEW** Math Challenge is Out!

Due Thursday by 3pm in the Math Challenge Box in the school office.

Winners will be chosen each week and get a prize.

Math Challenge Tournament 

The tournament is scheduled on February 28, 2015 for grades 2, 3, 4 and 5. Please check out the details at http://www.ellipsisacademy.com/math-challenge-tournament.html.

Participants will be arranged into teams of three or four students by grade level. It will be a fun day for our mathletes to showcase their math skills.

Registration is open here (http://horacemannptsa.com/Packet/MathContest). The deadline is January 10th but first come first serve (3-4 kids per team per grade) until teams are full so don't delay in registering. The registration fee is $15/student."

"Math is Cool" Contest and Coaching for 5th Graders 

Would your child like to compete in the "Math Is Cool" competition on March 20th, 2015?
 

A Horace Mann 5th Grade Team is being assembled.  To be eligible, a placement test will be administered on December 10th and possibly the 17th.  To sign up to take the placement test and get more details, email Math Coordinator (Satin Brennan at satin_san@hotmail.com).
 

Children will be chosen for the team based on the placement test and availability to attend coaching sessions and the contest.

Coaching sessions will be held in January, February and March on Wednesday's after school to prepare students.  Similar to Enrichment classes, parent volunteer(s) is also required.  Without that, this won't happen.

Math Kangaroo Competition - Registration Closes Dec 15th!

Don't forget to register your child for Math Kangaroo Contest on March 19, 2015 at 6pm at Horace Mann Center. 

Registration and payment is via our website because it is a private center. 

Do not also register via Math Kangaroo website.

There are only 50 slots total and we're nearly full!
