The funds raised from this year's book fair will be used to purchase more picture books, chapter books, and nonfiction titles for students to enjoy and to support the curriculum and Common Core Standards. Students will preview the book fair with their classes on December 1st and 2nd. The book fair opens for shopping Tuesday, December 2nd at 3pm. Book fair volunteers get to shop the book fair before the crowds on Tuesday, December 2nd from 7:45 - 8:15 am. Movie Night A Success!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the PTSA and movie night Friday, November 7th! And an especially huge THANK YOU to all the volunteers who stepped up and came early, stayed late, and helped all throughout movie night. There is no way this event would work without all of you, and we appreciate you so much! We appreciate your understanding as well in regards to the lights in the gym that were broken - it was an unexpected issue.

We would love to hear suggestions or comments for next year's movie night - what you enjoyed about it and what you think could be improved for next year. Please email them to arizonarachel@hotmail.com.

HELP NEEDED FOR THE HOLIDAYS:

The holiday season is fast approaching and we are asking for your help for our Horace Mann families who may need a little extra support during this time. As a school community, we provide a Thanksgiving meal and Christmas gift cards to a handful of families in our school family who may be going through tough financial times. If you are willing and able to help, we are collecting donations through November for BOTH Thanksgiving and Christmas.

A Note from the PTSA Membership Chair...

The 2014-15 student directories were distributed this week via kid mail to all families who signed up for PTSA membership this school year. If you have a paid membership and did not receive your directory, please email membership@horacemannptsa.org.

Directories are available to paid members of the PTSA only. If you would like a copy of the directory, you can join the PTSA online (https://horacemannptsa.ourschoolpages.com/Packet/Membership). Just click on the Membership link to sign up and we will get your copy of the directory to you ASAP!

Single membership is $16, and a family membership is $32. Both parents in a household do not need to be paid members. You can also enroll via paper form, please contact us at membership@horacemannptsa.org if you wish to join this way.

4th & 5th Grade: Holiday Food Drive Concert

Dear 4th and 5th grade families,

Below is a link for participation in our annual Holiday Food Drive Performance at Redmond Town Center. It is important that you sign up your student for this performance so we can make sure we have enough space on stage. Please take a moment to look through all the information that I've provided. We'd love to have everyone there! There are also some spots for volunteers to sign up as I will be needing help that evening with equipment and supervision. Redmond School Pool Results

Thank you so much for encouraging your student to walk, bike, carpool and take the bus to school. Because of your participation, Horace Mann's PTA has earned $2,660.00!

We blew past the 10% participation goal with 32% of our students participating by walking, biking, carpooling, or taking the bus to school.

This adds up to 2,158 drive alone trips reduced at Horace Mann, improving neighborhood traffic congestion and reducing local air pollution, while giving our students a healthy way to get to school.

If you participated in the Redmond SchoolPool program, an email from SchoolPool staff with a special reward just for your student will be coming soon.
