Wed., Oct 8th is Walk to School and Dress as your Favorite Literary Character Day! Be sure to walk, ride a bike, carpool or ride the bus to school on Oct. 8th and earn a prize. The Mayor of Redmond will be here handing out flashers for all students who walk, ride a bike, carpool or ride the bus to school. There will only be 1 station in the front of the school where students can get a flasher. If you enter the campus from the back, please be sure to come around front to get your flasher (1 per student, please). Oct. 8th is also DRESS AS YOUR FAVORITE LITERARY CHARACTER DAY. This is celebration for meeting our Summer Literacy Reading goal. Please note, that the school dress code does apply. |
Announcing the PTSA Pass The Hat Classroom Contest! We want to encourage everyone who hasn't been able to donate to Pass the Hat to do so now, because through October 24th, we are having a friendly classroom contest. We're still going to offer Movie Night donation-free and at cost if we meet our goal by 10/31, too! It's a win/win. I know, you want to know the good stuff - the prizes, right? Here you go: First, the top three classrooms in both primary and secondary will be awarded extra funding for their teachers to purchase additional classroom supplies! 1st prize is $150, 2nd is $100, and 3rd is $75. Next, the classes in 1st place for both primary and secondary will earn lunch in their classroom with a very special guest - our very own Mrs. Spaulding! Finally, the class with the highest amount raised will have a special reserved seating area at Movie Night on 11/7! But wait! I already donated! That's fantastic! All donations made before today will also count towards classroom totals. But don't let that stop you from donating again! |
October is Walk & Bike to School Month! Students can earn rewards and help raise money for Horace Mann when they walk, bike, carpool, and take the bus to school through October! There are two tools to encourage families to drive less: the paper calendar and the online system at RedmondSchoolPool.com. Click here for more information about using either the paper calendar or schoolpool.com to earn $s for Horace Mann & prizes for your student. http://horacemannptsa.org/Doc/Newsletter/WalkBikeToSchoolMonth.pdf |
