Hello, parents!
The Horace Mann PTSA hopes that you are enjoying the last bit of your summer vacations and are gearing up for another fun school year. In preparation of the upcoming, first-ever Colt Corral, we want to invite you to beat the crowds and take care of your PTSA business online now at http://horacemannptsa.org/Packet/2014FirstDayPacket. You can be one of the first 100 people to purchase your annual membership to the Horace Mann PTSA and win our newly released Colt window decal.
You can also purchase the 2014/2015 yearbook that students are delighted to receive at the end of the year, join the Birthday Book Club so that your child's birthday is recognized with a book being donated in their name to the Horace Mann library for all to enjoy, and to learn about volunteer opportunities Further, you can make this year's donation to the PTSA's Pass the Hat fundraiser which will help us financially support our school's IXL, Accelerated Reading Program, Art Program, Field Trips, Classroom Support, Assemblies and much much more!! For every $100 donation you make to Pass the Hat, you will receive a raffle ticket to win a parent & child matching Horace Mann football jersey.

Parking Lot Changes
In an effort to keep traffic flowing smoothly in the parking lot, we have extended our student drop off and pick up areas. Please have car seats and students sitting on the passenger side of the car for easy transitions. Stay in your lane until it merges into 1 lane. Also, the south side of 104th, just before the school entrance, is a "NO PARKING ZONE" during pick up and drop off times. This area is meant to be a queue for cars waiting to get to the pick up and drop off areas. Please refer to the attached map for more details. Thank you in advance for your help in keeping our traffic flowing smoothly.

Colt Corral Volunteers
Help welcome back the Horace Mann community by helping greet folks at the Colt Corral on August 28. See familiar faces and meet some new ones by helping hand out passports and direct folks to the essential stations. Sign up to help for just an hour or more. 8am - 12 pm.

Setup for Colt Corral
On August 27, 2014 we need volunteers to help stuff envelopes, make signs and setup the commons and gym in preparation for the back to business event. We need your help to make this event run smoothly for a successful welcome back to our Horace Mann community. Come join in and lend a hand.

Back to School Breakfast
The teachers and staff at Horace Mann will be back to school on Monday, August 25th in preparation for the year ahead. In keeping up with tradition, the PTSA would like to provide them with a welcome back breakfast. Please see the sign up for items needed. To add content to the Horace Mann E-Newsletter, e-mail your entry to horacemannager@horacemannptsa.org. Make your submissions by 5:00 pm on Thursday. Mid-week blasts are subject to approval. The Horace Mannager welcomes article submissions from students, parents, staff & the community. The PTSA reserves the right to be selective regarding materials published.
Other organizations (e.g. the YMCA, Girl or Boy Scouts, Boys and Girls Club, etc.) can post announcements on the Community Bulletin Board. Instructions on how to submit for approval can be found here.
