Dear Mann Community: As the weather gets warmer and sunnier, I wanted to remind you of a few safety concerns. On these sunny days, it is great fun for our students to play on the playground after school. That is not an issue, as long as they are supervised by an adult. Please note that we do not have supervision on the playground after school. Please also note that the district has a safety policy that allows only 4th and 5th graders to ride their bikes to school and leave them locked up on campus during the school day. If you are interested in having your 4th or 5th grader ride their bike to and from school, there is a contract that students and parents must sign. Forms are available in the main office. Thank you in advance for helping us keep our student body safe. Megan Spaulding Principal |

Seeking an After School Enrichment Coordinator!
Do your kids enjoy the after school enrichment classes like Art, Chess and Dodgeball?
To keep this program going, we need a parent volunteer to help plan and schedule these classes. You would work with our current coordinator, Gretchen, to run the program, starting in September 2014.
If you're interested please contact Gretchen Connors or Sara Buckley

Art Night is this Friday!
May 30th, 6-8pm
We are in need of volunteers for our annual Art Night. We are asking volunteers to help with various jobs to make the event a great one. Jobs include general set-up and clean-up, managing creation stations and floaters. Volunteers can be parents or older middle school/high school siblings who want to earn service hours. Most shifts are a half hour, some are an hour. Please have a look at the sign up genius here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C084DA4AE23A3F94-artnight
Not only will Student Artwork be all over the walls upstairs and down, Art Night is your chance to dig in and make some art with your kids.
Creation stations will be outside and inside, upstairs and downstairs, featuring familiar and new projects like: Paper Marbling Impressionist Style, Crayon Melting Chihuly Style, Japanese Sumi Ink Painting, Hawaiian Lei Making, Mosaics with Van Gogh and OKeeffe.
Search for clues around campus in a Scavenger Hunt Adventure of artistic discovery.
TNT Treats will provide Hot Dog Dinners (dog, chips, drink) for $5. They'll also serve Lemonade and Kettle Corn.
Celebrate Horace Mann Elementary and the Sudo family as they break a Guinness World Record in our very own Mann Art Gallery. That's right, history will be made - because the Sudo's have made over 21,000 origami boats and you can see them all.
Each class has been working together on a Raffle project for you to take home. Raffle tickets will be on sale before and after school May 29, 30 and 31 for $1 each.
