Dear Mann Community:
New way to help your student stay on track:
The Haiku Learning Management System is now open for parents to view information on their student(s) and their classes. Haiku is a digital learning environment for classroom communication and collaboration. It's a great tool for parents to use to help their students stay on track.
Please click here to read more about Haiku Parent Access
Microsoft Give Program:
Also, are you a Microsoft employee? If so, Horace Mann is now eligible for the Microsoft Give Program. Please consider our school when making your charitable contributions.

Thank you to everyone that participated in our "Pass the Hat" PTSA fall fundraiser. The PTSA earned $10,240 toward our Pass the Hat goal of $20,000. Overall, we had 50% participation. We will continue to accept donations, so if you have not yet participated, please consider doing so
here. Don't forget to submit your corporate matches!
Classroom Challenge Winners:
Ms Droke's classroom won for grades K-2 with an astounding 92% participation! Ms Dayton's class won for grades 3-5 with 63% participation. These two classes have won $150 to buy something new for their classrooms and their teachers won an additional $50 in Classroom Grant money.
Progress Prizes:
The student body has earned two Progress Prizes:
$5k Pajama Day
$10k New books for the library
Where does your contribution go?
PTSA funds will pay for many great academic programs this year! A few examples include:
$5000 - Art Program: Elementary art education in LWSD is almost entirely dependent on PTSA funds!
$2800 - Accelerated Reader (AR) Program
$2200 - IXL Online Math
$6000 - Teacher Classroom Grants
$2500 - Fieldtrip Support: the PTSA pays for buses so parents don't have to drive!
$1800 - Assemblies to enrich and educate through entertainment
Microsoft employees can sign in here to have their donations matched (you must be on the corporate network).
