Colt Carnival Update
Carnival is this Friday, October 4th, 5:30-8:30! Come and enjoy an evening of fun with your family and friends.
We still really need parents to help work booth shifts, especially during the carnival! Please sign up TODAY at
Ticket presales will be held after school on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week, right after school. Tickets cost 50 cents each and can be used for games and food. The first 20 people to buy $20 worth of tickets will get a special tote bag!
We are looking for a generator to borrow to help with lights for carnival.
Please bring your cakes and cupcakes for our cake walk to the Staff Lounge, after school on Friday! We really need your help with this :)
Thank you for your generous book and stuffed animals donations. We don't need anymore!
Plan on eating dinner at Carnival, we will have Pizza (a limited number of gluten free between 5:30 and 6:30), salads (also a limited number) and Jamba Juice (while they last). We also have bottled water, popcorn, and treats.
Thank you in advanced for making this a special night!

Upportunity Team Event Saturday, Oct. 5
The Upportunity Team is hosting our first big Saturday event. We will return to the on-site pond to do more battling with blackberries. It will be October 5th from 9:00 - 12:00. We know it's right after the carnival. But you and your kids can burn off a lot of those carnival calories working with a shovel or a pick. So please come on down! Consider this your fall upportunity. Any child can participate with an adult family member present. Adults will sign a held harmless agreement. Upportunity members and former members may attend on their own with a signed permission slip. We look forward to seeing you there!

PTSA Membership & Directories
A plea from the Membership Chair:
The green PTSA membership/directory form that was included in your child's first-day packet needs to be returned ASAP. Membership in our PTSA not only gives you a vote at our monthly meetings, but provides much-needed financial support for dozens of programs run by the PTSA. Your $16 fee pays for emergency prep, our carnival and dances, art night, and many other things, including grants to our teachers for classroom supplies. With your membership you will receive the highly popular student directory! Even if you choose not to join the PTSA, the green form must be returned in order for your child's information to be in the directory. We can list names but there will be no phone number or email address for your child if you do not return the form. The directory makes it very easy to set up play dates, send party invitations, and coordinate in-school events like harvest parties and teach appreciation events. Please return the form to school with your child as soon as you can! Copies can be found on the Mann website, or click on this link. Thank you! |
We need Your Help
There are a number of very important PTSA volunteer opportunities that have not been filled yet. Please take a look below and let us know if you are interested or have questions about any of these positions.
Please contact any of the following people:
Tamara Trepte (tamaratrepte@gmail.com), Andrea Bradford (cakbradford@comcast.net), or Satin Brennan (satin_san@hotmail.com)
· Legislative Chair - attend Legislative Assembly in October and advocate for our school at district and state.
· Membership Co-Chair - learn the role this year and then lead next year.
· Health/Safety Chair - oversee that all goes smoothly and liaison with leads & report info to Board of Directors (there are already lead volunteers in place for each area: Emergency Prep, Health Screening, Health Room and Safe Arrival)
· Safe Arrival - help the school office staff to follow up on absent students at 9am once/twice a month - you pick the day(s).
· Yearbook - collect and then submit photos and info online at Yearbook vendor website and coordinate for our school.
· Assemblies - research what might be good assemblies (~2 per year) to hold at our school and then coordinate getting the vendor. Help as needed with school-related assemblies.
· Awards Committee - at the end of the school year, send out nomination forms so people can nominate a teacher, parent or community member for being exemplary and then choose winners from the entries and then present the awards at the final Awards Assembly.
· Nomination Committee - help find people for the PTSA Board of Directors for next school year.
