Dear Parents,
To help promote summer literacy, we are excited to announce the 2nd annual Horace Mann Summer Reading Postcard Program*.

Summer Reading Postcard 2013
As a staff, we believe this program is a wonderful opportunity to promote active reading at home.
While your child reads, you will become involved participants as you listen and offer feedback. On the bottom of each postcard, please comment on how your child has improved from one reading to the next. After completing the postcards, you can mail them to Horace Mann Elementary or bring them back during the first week of school. Postcards will be on display in the building during the month of September and students who participate will be recognized as a group during the Welcome Back Assembly and celebrate with a special Read-In.

Fall Colt Carnival October 17th
Hello Parents, it has been a couple of years since we have had a carnival due to lack of parent involvement. We would like to put on a carnival in October but we need YOU! Please email me if you are willing to be on a committee to put a carnival together for the fall. I am hoping if we meet twice over the summer that we can divide up the work and put together a fun evening for everyone. Please save your gently used books for the book walk. Register Your Student Today!
The school office will be closed for the summer after Friday, June 21st. The office will reopen on Monday, August 19th. You can register your child before that date at the Lake Washington School District Resource Center in Redmond Town Center.
