Operation Restoration
Well, this has been an incredible two-year journey for Kingdom Women, a journey of love, grace, and momentum. In this issue, our mission is to impart "restoration" into your soul, bringing strength to the very core of who you are. The deep places of who we are as women are as delicate as rose petals and soft as butterflies; therefore, there are areas of our lives that need restoration from the ugliness of the past, the stresses of life on the body, and words that bind us to circumstances of life, so the grace can flow and enrich us tremendously. As a young girl, there were parts of my mental stability that were stripped from me and my physical body was exposed to the cruelness of life. When I was eight years old, I was sexually abused. This opened the door of division within me and caused me to become sinister in my thinking. When you're not a whole person mentally, physically, and spiritually, it's extremely difficult to grasp life as it is and live it with purpose in mind. Fast forward to the future. As a young woman, I made bad decisions because my heart was troubled. Abuse, especially sexual abuse, can produce a troubled heart and cause unbelief to reign. If your life is divided, chaotic, unfruitful, stressful, or just lacking in several areas, then there is a sound moving out in the airwaves that says it's time to be restored. To make a long story short, I received healing in my inner life (mental, physical, and spiritual) about seven years ago, bringing restoration to my whole being. Listen to the stories and ministry Kingdom Women has to offer in this issue and receive restoration. Once someone receives restoration, they then become agents of restoration. You may say, "I'm already restored." Good! Then help restore your sister, mother, aunt, friend, and family by reaching out your hands of love, grace, and encouragement to bring laughter and life to that Kingdom Woman.

Restoration
By Winter McKinney-Harris

When I think about my life, I think about the countless number of obstacles I've had to face. I'm no different than everyone else, as the Bible is clear that in this life we will all have trouble and trials. These trials can be stumbling blocks in our lives or be like hurricanes that leave little left to salvage. What do you do when life's storms seem to never let up or there never seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel?
As women, we can find it difficult to get past life-altering situations and circumstances. I can remember when I experienced this in my own personal life. The 2007 year was a year of tremendous ups and downs for me. Although prospering in many ways both professionally and financially, my relationships with family and friends seemed to be on the decline. After my parents' marriage ended after 26 years, I thought my marriage would soon follow. My world had been completely shaken, and, although I had said often that God was the God of the impossible, I had completely abandoned that belief in my own situation. It was a flat mess! It left me wounded and broken in more ways than I could even articulate for several years.
A dear friend called me one evening and said, "Winter, God has set you free from all of the drama you've experienced in your life, but you have to want to be set free." I was literally like a caged bird that had been set free, yet unable to leave its cage. The truth was that I had found comfort and safety within that cage. Life wasn't so uncertain because I knew what to expect, regardless of how miserable I was. My health had suffered tremendously as a result of that funk. After almost losing my life due to hypertension with my last pregnancy,
it seemed like the issues would not stop coming. I had an intestinal disease that lowered my iron and drained my energy. I was doing just enough to stay awake and function most days. All of this was topped off by massive migraines and periodic shortness of breath that came so frequently that the doctors believed I had a heart condition. I remember researching all of the causes of the various conditions I was experiencing, and I found they were all related to stress and unresolved issues.
I remember praying one night and telling God that I didn't want to die and that I needed to be restored in every area of my life. I couldn't understand what was standing in the way of my complete healing. When I went to bed that night, I began to see that the only common denominator was ME. I saw that I was a grudge holder, slow to forgive if I ever decided to forgive, self-righteous, and low on mercy. It amazed me so much that I began writing down all of the areas that I had issues and where they outweighed the issues I had with everyone else. It was amazing what that did for me. It force me to take the focus off of all of the people that had wronged me and focus on how I could have helped the situation or could have extended the hand of mercy and forgave and I didn't.
Restoration is more like a personal operation that takes place. Operations take time, but yield a result that is often more beneficial to the person than when they first laid on the table. Fortunately God's restoration is complete and there are no risks associated with it. God's love is patient and perfect. He loves us through the injury, surgery and rehab, and is so proud when we can, in turn, give a testimonial about His great power and love.
I am proud to say that although my parents never reconciled, I have no unforgiveness in my heart towards them or the situation. I am more in love today with my husband than I have ever been, and I am weaning off of all my medications. The cardiologist confirmed that I do not have a heart problem, and I am on my way to being the healthiest I have ever been through diet and exercise. My business is also growing and expanding. God is able to restore any and every situation, if we are willing to allow Him to perform the necessary operations. You may need one or several. Your recovery may be months or years. No matter the amount of time it takes, I pray that my experience will give you the courage to book your own appointment.

Restor(i)ed
By Dionna Moses
Ladies, I would like to offer to you a new way of thinking about restoration and the idea of being restored. As I was reflecting upon my life pre and post-God, pre and post- Jesus, and pre and post-Holy Spirit, all three occurring at three different times, I began to realize that the impact that this has caused in my life has been that my life has not only been restored, but also restoried. The story of my life has been dramatically shifted, past, present and future.
Let's first start with the past. I do not look at what has happened in the past as a list of failures and successes, although I have both caused and experienced the most extreme of both good and bad. The Lord has taught me that there was a purpose in everything, and these experiences have been used to prepare me. I have shifted the way that I think about the past from that of defeat or triumph to it all being used to prepare me for something. That something could have been my next assignment or something that will take place years from now. It is not up to me to know, but to reflect and take hold of everything that I am to learn from what has happened. Sometimes it was to gain an understanding of the depth of His love, sometimes it was to show me areas where I have built up pride that must be dealt with. I encourage you to reflect upon the past through the eyes of a learner. My past has been restoried from that of mistakes and accomplishments, to that of an intertwining mix of lessons skillfully crafted to make me better in every way.
Now let's look at the future. Since coming to know and understand my Jesus, the future looks tremendously different. Although still full of success, the kind of success that I envision does not come at the expense of mental, physical, and emotional instability. Unbeknownst to me (in my past, pre-God days), the success that I was seeking would come at a price far beyond what I would want to give. And the painful truth is that most of us are probably in a position today where we are unintentionally or intentionally paying a price far beyond what we want to pay. We are paying by not taking care of our bodies the way that we should, not getting the downtime and balance that we should (for hormonal restoration), and investing in a daily walk and relationship with the Lord as we should. I am thankful that my future has been restoried by a new definition of success that includes, and is not at the cost of, the above things.
Ultimately, the impact of being restoried can be seen in the present. Although not full of challenges, my perspective and attitude towards the day is one of great adventure. What does the Lord have in store for me today? It is not another day of survival or what can I achieve today? Rather, it is a journey that will have many ups and downs, places where I am trusting the Lord second by second and places where I can see the path clearly, and times when I will be personally fulfilled and times where I am meeting the needs of or bringing joy to others. By allowing the Lord to restory my life, I have not only been restored, but am moving forward with great joy and peace. I encourage every lady reading this newsletter to let the Lord not only restore their life, but also restory it by changing the way that we think of our past and future and approach the present.

A Woman Who Builds Her House
Pastor Dexter Howard
In today's society, marriages are under intense pressure to survive life's daily challenges, work stress, and family obligations. I believe love endures forever; however, a relationship that is based solely on love drastically decreases its chances of survival and future success. There are some essential elements you must have in order to build a house, family, or marriage that lasts a lifetime.
Building Essentials
The Bible says in Proverbs 14:1(New Century Version), "A wise woman strengthens (builds) her family (house), but a foolish woman destroys hers by what she does (with her hands)." Our hands are an extension of our heart. Noble deeds come from a noble heart and wicked deeds come from a wicked heart. In order to ensure that your hands are performing the right actions, you must make sure that the right things are in your heart. The Bible says in Proverbs 4:23 in The Message Bible translation, "Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that's where life starts." If you desire a good marriage, it must originate in the heart. If your marriage is suffering, it's because of what has been allowed to enter into and fester within your heart.
I believe there are three essential ingredients that, if employed with love, will drastically increase our chances for success in every area of our lives, especially concerning the marriage covenant. Those three essential ingredients are faith, hope, and commitment. These are all derivatives of God's love that stem from the heart. We need a love higher than human love for marriage to work. Human love is "sometime-y" and based on conditions and convenience. But in order to have success in marriage, we must love no matter the circumstances. This kind of love comes only from God.
Faith comes from experiencing the love of God, so faith is most powerful in a heart where God's love is present. Hope is the expectation for something good to happen in our lives. It inspires a vision - or a picture - in our heart. This is important because if we can see a better future in our hearts, our faith will pursue it, in spite of our current circumstances. The final necessity for success in marriage is commitment. To commit is to fully invest yourself into a particular thing. What you believe and envision for your marriage will require you to commit - lock in - to a course of action or you will never see results. You must decide to stay with it and see it through.
What Do You See?
Ruth is a perfect example of a woman who built her house using her faith, hope and commitment to a promise. Ruth's life circumstances took a drastic turn for the worse when her husband died and she was left with nothing, but she made the decision to trust that God could do something wonderful with what appeared to be a hopeless situation. She "hoped against hope" and envisioned a future. She decided to return to Jerusalem with Naomi, her mother-in-law, making a covenant that she would not leave her no matter what occurred. She kept her commitment and eventually became the wife of Boaz, one of the wealthiest men in Jerusalem.
Like Ruth, we must be able to connect, through faith and hope, to a desired picture of our future. If this "faith picture" is compelling enough, we are able to make the necessary commitment until what we have seen in our hearts manifests.
Are You Committed?
Ruth committed herself to the covenant she had with Naomi. She said to Naomi, "Don't force me to leave you; don't make me go home. Where you go, I go; and where you live, I'll live. Your people are my people, your God is my God; where you die, I'll die, and that's where I'll be buried, so help me God - not even death itself is going to come between us!" (Ruth 1:16-17, The Message Bible). Ruth made a decision to build her house, her family, and her future and NOT to destroy it. It wasn't easy or convenient for her to stay with her mother-in-law, but she kept her covenant. That made all the difference. Her future success depended on it.
It's the same for us. If we have any chance of succeeding, we must commit to the covenant we have made to our spouse. It's a covenant of purpose and God will help us see it through when we decide we are "in it to win it!" We have to be strong in faith and full of hope to see past our current condition to a brighter future. Remember, God's way of loving is NOT based on conditions. God loves unconditionally, and we also must love this way in order to experience success in our relationships.
Be Wise
Proverbs 24:3 states, "Through wisdom a house is built." I challenge you to use your heart and your hands to build your house, not to tear it down. Guard your heart and daily cultivate the right things in it - faith, hope, and commitment. Release these through the love of God. Boldly declare this: GOD CAN heal, restore, and give me strength to begin again.
God's best be upon your house,

Precious Rubies
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a ruby is a precious gemstone made from the mineral corundum, and is one of the most sought after gemstones in the world. Well, likewise, we have incredible rubies within us that are just as precious that can cause our lives to burn with passion and move us to be seekers of wise and purposeful living.
Over the past two years, we have talked about such rubies as the mind, heart, and much more; however, over the last six months, I have been polishing the ruby of secret petitions. Petitions are request, prayers, supplications, and desires made to a higher authority. We must understand that the essence of secret petitions rest within the rich soil of our hearts, and consists of things we have not yet voiced to anyone, not even to God. God has a robust way of causing the fires of life that impact us deeply to cut and shape and bring forth the ruby of secret petitions. We have secret petitions that need to surface to bring hope to the soul, rejuvenation to the body, and freedom to our thinking.
As we grew from young girls to grown women, there were dreams, visions, and goals that we had envisioned ourselves doing and being. These things were planted within us by an amazing God. The secret petitions within our hearts are warring to be revealed at this very moment. There are enemies that want to suppress our secret petitions, such as guilt, shame, tiredness in the body, unbelief, and past experiences, that will rip from our hearts what God intended for us to have.
I summon you to polish the ruby of secret petitions (develop and let them come forth) at this very moment. The Bible says that the Lord will give you the secret petitions of your heart if you delight yourself in Him (Psalms 37:4), so take refuge in Him because there is a guaranteed promise that the secret requests, prayers, desires, and so much more will be given to you if you delight in Him. Polish this ruby through rejoicing in our incredible God!

Healthy Lifestyle
By Shawndra Jones
I believe that your health affects everything in your life and should be near the top of your priorities. God wants us to treat our bodies with the utmost respect because it is His temple. Consequently, the Bible gives very specific details on what God does and does not want us to do with our body.
As a healthcare professional, I often hear of health being described as our greatest wealth. With that in mind, I've often wondered why we don't treasure, protect and invest in our health the same way as we do our monetary wealth? I'm sure that we all know of a friend, family member, church member or colleague who is affected by a chronic disease or has experienced negative outcomes as a result of sickness in our bodies. God's plan is for us to be in good health. He needs a clean and wholesome place to dwell. Moreover, we have been redeemed from the curse of sickness.
I want to share some steps I believe will lead to a healthy lifestyle.
- Know what the Word of God says about your health. (Psalm 119:11)
- Eat and drink according to God's plan. (1 Corinthians 10:31)
- Don't let food become your god.
- Ask God to heal you if you become sick.
- Maintain a joyful spirit. (Proverbs 14:30)
- Engage in 30 minutes of moderate physical activity on most days of the week.
- Get proper sleep and rest. (Psalm 127:2)
- Seek godly medical counsel.
- Set realistic short and long-term fitness goals.
I believe that everyone can improve their quality of life by becoming an active participant in their own healthcare. It requires education about relevant health and wellness issues along with a commitment to make positive and permanent lifestyle changes. Make the decision today that you want to glorify God with your body and be fit to serve.
