Introducing the Journal of Delivery Science

Dr. John Toussaint will serve on the editorial board of Health Care: The Journal of Delivery Science and Innovation, a new healthcare publication focused on four main themes: payment innovation, process and operational improvement, patient-centered clinical innovation, and applied health information technology.

The first issue is set to launch in the second quarter of 2013. We know you have all been doing great work in this space. If you are interested in submitting papers about your lean journey click here.

All Payer Claims Database Annual Conference

The Center was a sponsor of the All Payer Claims Database (APCD) Annual Conference, which united healthcare data organizations from around the country to discuss how to support delivery system transformation with analytics.  A major theme of this conference was putting data to work - the exact sentiments of the Center. Attendees focused on how important it is to move beyond stockpiling healthcare data in data warehouses and begin to deliver insights about performance and opportunities for improved value to the patient.

Institute of Medicine Interactive Webinar

The Center is collaborating with the Institute of Medicine to conduct an interactive webinar on Jan. 15, 2013. The Institute recently published a white paper exploring ways to increase patient engagement in their healthcare, and it is very interested in sharing the content and getting feedback on what is really happening in the delivery system. For more information or to participate, contact Mike Stoecklein or Catherine Johannes.

The ThedaCare Center for Healthcare Value is transforming the healthcare industry to deliver higher value through experiments, collaboration and education that integrates three interdependent components: delivery, transparency and payment. In these areas, the Center spreads learning and accelerates improvement.
