CONGESTION PRICING IN ESCROW CLOSINGS? YES!
The fight over tolls on the new Columbia River Crossing bridge has made the concept of congestion pricing a front-page issue: charging more at peak times and less at slack times. It encourages people to avoid the peak rush hour times so that traffic flows smoother. How about applying the same concept to escrow closings? Did you know that 33% of documents recorded at the Auditor's office are recorded within the last 10 days of the month? So far in 2012, up to 27% fewer documents are recorded in the first half of the month than in the second half. Why not shoot for the first half of the month, when everyone has more time to carefully close your transaction without the scramble of the end-of-month rush? Pick the 15th for your closing date instead of the end of the month, and you'll find your escrow closer is not in a closing when you call. No, we don't charge more for "busy-time" closings, but everyone gets better, individual attention when they aren't all closing on the same day of the month! And better service is what Cascade Title Company is all about!
