Easter Greetings
from Ministries of Pastoral Care

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade."  1Peter 1:3-4

Bob and Ita

The Lord has risen!

For Bob and Ita Fischer, the words of the Easter greeting summarize the purpose of their ministry, their marriage and their family.  In 1991, Ita was deeply ensconced in the gay lifestyle with little desire to change.  Though she was raised in the reformed tradition, the power of the cross held little meaning to her.  It was when she discovered the power and reality of Christ's Resurrection, largely through Leanne's teaching, that Ita's healing began.  Bob searched for truth within the liturgy and symbols of the Catholic Church and there also found the reality and power of the resurrected Christ.

They like to tell the story of how they met over bacon one Sunday after church and have been married for 14 years.  Bob's mission is to collaborate with God to bring beauty into the world through his landscape design company.  Ita works at Wheaton College as the Director of Career Services and teaches about God's healing power here in the US and internationally.  Both find great joy in bringing the reality of the resurrected Christ to others through teaching, prayer and the arduous task of daily living which is currently centered around the demanding schedules of their 3 children.  They look forward to participating with the Risen Christ during this upcoming MPC.

The Lord has risen, indeed.
