At Alberta Carriage Supply, we participate in a number of driving events and use horse drawn farm implements, wagons and sleighs. This led to inevitable repairs being required as a result of breakdowns, and every day wear and tear. As we found no easy access to parts and repairs, we took several courses from practicing wheelwrights and the Western Development Museum in Saskatoon. We maintain a complete inventory of carriage and wagon parts, harness and provide a full repair service. Our practical experience in driving gives us a good understanding of how things should work, and what happens when they don't.

Provides safe & reliable equine transportation services for leading equestrian facilities in the Calgary area and are hired by internationally recognized trainers and riders to handle their regular and specialized equine transportation requirements.

We operate primarily in the Southern Alberta area and provide horse show and charter service to all points in Western Canada and the USA.

We are commercially licensed, insured and authorized to operate in Canada and the USA. We utilize late model safety inspected trucks and trailers.

New Wild Rose Show Incentives for 2016

The AEF is introducing two new incentives in 2016 to encourage safe and ethical competitions in Alberta.

Pay it Back - Wild Rose Officials Funding
Designed to offset a portion of the costs associated with hiring an official. Applications will be accepted in November and officials' fees incurred during 2016 will be considered. Show organizers have the opportunity to apply, once per calendar year.

Wild Rose Member Referral
For every five brand new members that join the AEF due to the show organizer's efforts, the AEF will provide a $25 voucher redeemable on their next Wild Rose Show sanctioning application.
Vouchers have no cash value but also do not expire! Referrals may be accumulated over several events and used the following year.

Industry & Agriculture
Changes to the Animal Health Legislation

Alberta's Chief Provincial Veterinarian would like to again remind livestock owners about changes to the Animal Health Act and regulations, which came into effect on June 30, 2014.

Alberta's animal health legislation was updated to ensure it continues to meet the evolving needs of livestock owners and the agriculture industry, and to make sure the legislation continues to effectively protect animal and public health. For example, some of the changes clarify policies and requirements, recognize modern practices, or allow for more flexibility and options for the livestock industry.

Ideas and information provided by Alberta's agriculture industry were instrumental in building and updating the legislation - making it stronger and more valuable, and recognizing the cutting-edge industry that exists today.

Click here for more information on the changes to Animal  Health Legislation.

Regional Presentations

The AEF team hit the road in October, traveling to Lethbridge, Edmonton and Grande Prairie, to meet with current and prospective members to discuss the various resources and programs available through the AEF membership. Mike King from Capri Insurance joined us for our Regional Presentations to answer questions regarding the great insurance coverage provided with the basis AEF membership, as well as the varied insurance options.

Congratulations to the AEF members who walked away from our presentation with one of the great door prizes, and thank you to everyone who visited with our team!

We hope to meet many more of our great community members at future AEF events.
