Biosecurity Guidelines for Organizers and Competitors

An outbreak of an infectious disease during or subsequent to an equine event has the potential to significantly impact the horse industry through loss of horse health and potentially life, loss of performance ability of individual horses, cancellation of events during disease outbreaks, increased veterinary costs, clean up costs and emotional stress.

Recreation & Trails
Become A Trail Supporter
Just a few dollars from each AEF member each year can make a huge difference in building and improving Alberta's equestrian trails.  If you like to explore new trails, or plan to in the future, help make Alberta the best place on earth to ride by making a contribution to the AEF Trail Supporter Fund.

The Trail Supporter Fund provides funding to AEF member clubs to assist them in trail projects like building and improving trails and horse-camping sites.  For a generous individual contribution of $35 or more, you will receive a Leave No Trace Canada handy reference card, for $60 or more you will receive a 32-page Leave No Trace Horse Use Skills & Ethics booklet and for a contribution of $100 or more, you will receive both items and recognition on our Trail Supporter Donor Wall.

Download an AEF Trail Supporter contribution form or log on to your AEF account to contribute online.

Did You Know?  It costs approximately $3000 for every 1 km to build new trails!

Ride And Drive - Accomplishments

Sisters Veronica (March 2015 issue) and Jacelyn Pedersen have both reached the 1000 hour mark in our Ride and Drive Program.  Looks like this is a family affair for these young ladies as they enjoy their horse time both in and out of the saddles.  Keep up the good work girls!

Please join the AEF in congratulating Jacelyn and Veronica Pedersen on reaching 1000 hours in the saddle!  This is a huge accomplishment and surely the 2000 hour mark is in their future!

Be sure to check future issues as you or someone you know may be our next featured Ride and Drive member!
