Official Results of Vote on Equine Canada's Proposed By-Laws
Ottawa, Ont., March 28, 2015 - The in-person vote of Equine Canada's proposed Articles of Continuance and amended By-Laws under the new Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act (CNCA) was held at the EC Annual General Meeting (AGM) on March 27 during the EC Annual Convention, being held March 24-30, in Gatineau, Que.
EC members in good standing were invited to cast their ballot on the proposed By-Laws. The results of the in-person voting were then tallied with the results of the online vote, which closed Feb. 26, 2015. After the final tally of all votes, the proposed By-laws were not accepted by the required two-thirds majority.
EC President, Al Patterson, informed the membership that the 2015 EC Board will enact a plan immediately to engage EC stakeholders and streamline amendments to the By-Laws for acceptance by the membership.
Further information on the By-Laws will be distributed as it becomes available.
