New and Improved Website!

We are excited to announce the launch of the new and improved Alberta Equestrian Federation website! Our goal was to create a user friendly site that allows our members easy access to renew individual memberships, browse upcoming equestrian events, post in our forums and classifieds, and obtain relevant industry news! We hope you enjoy browsing on your shiny new site as much as we do!
Vanessa Morris Joins Team AEF!

After a long search the Alberta Equestrian Federation is extremely excited to welcome Vanessa Morris to the our team as Recreation and Industry Coordinator!

Horses have been an avid part of Vanessa's life since before she could walk. Taking every opportunity she had to help care for horses, Vanessa could always be found at the farm. She has competed, coached, trained young horses, and currently volunteers at Dare to Dream Horse Rescue in addition to finding new areas to explore with her new mount Diva, a five year old thoroughbred.

Vanessa is excited to take the next stride in her career and join the AEF staff team.  Her passion, dedication and past work experience will not only benefit the AEF programming but will bring a new level of service to that sector of the AEF membership.

Do you have questions, comments or concerns about Recreation and Industry?  Please reach out and connect with Vanessa at recreation@albertaequestrian.com

Official Results of Vote on Equine Canada's Proposed By-Laws

Ottawa, Ont., March 28, 2015 - The in-person vote of Equine Canada's proposed Articles of Continuance and amended By-Laws under the new Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act (CNCA) was held at the EC Annual General Meeting (AGM) on March 27 during the EC Annual Convention, being held March 24-30, in Gatineau, Que.

EC members in good standing were invited to cast their ballot on the proposed By-Laws. The results of the in-person voting were then tallied with the results of the online vote, which closed Feb. 26, 2015. After the final tally of all votes, the proposed By-laws were not accepted by the required two-thirds majority.

EC President, Al Patterson, informed the membership that the 2015 EC Board will enact a plan immediately to engage EC stakeholders and streamline amendments to the By-Laws for acceptance by the membership.

Further information on the By-Laws will be distributed as it becomes available.
