Endurance rider fundraising to compete at WEG in Normandy, FRA
Leanna Marchant of Calgary, AB and her equine partner of 10 years, Samsons Fire have been named to the Canadian Endurance Team for the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy, France!

Sadly, representing Canada on an international level does not always come with an all expenses paid golden ticket, instead, it often involves a huge financial commitment. Leanna has started a crowdfunding page to help with the high costs involved in representing her country and sport on an international level.

Please check it out, help spread the word, and contribute if you can. http://www.gofundme.com/6u9w5o
Best of luck, Leanna and Sam, we're proud of you!

Eighteen people from eight provinces took part in this ground-breaking event for trail riding in Canada and are now certified as professionals in the trail riding industry.
Ways to compensate your employees
Kevin Haughton

There are many ways to structure total compensation packages for your employees. Many employers only think about wages or salaries and vacation days. However, one of the best solutions, a group benefit plan is often overlooked.

Generous employee benefits programs can help you to entice high quality workers, retain valuable employees and improve labor relations. In addition, good benefit plans can actually assist your employees in being more productive and effective.  In fact, many employees would rather have an employee benefit program instead of increased wages or additional vacation days.

Money put towards an employee benefits plan is received by your employees as a tax free benefit. If you put that same amount of money into a cash bonus, they only receive about 65-70% of the amount after taxes and deductions. Benefit plans are one of the best tools available to employers as a way to flow through additional compensation in a tax free manner. Not to mention that every penny you spend on the program is a 100% tax write- off for your company at the end of the year.

AEF business members will receive a complementary review, audit and marketing of their current program, value $500.00!

Congratulations, Aliera Chernoff!
