Have your Say!  Equine Canada Voting Director At Large!

The Equine Canada (EC) Board of Directors consists of three Director-at-Large positions, which are elected by the membership. One Director-at-Large position is elected each year and serves a three-year term.  Nominations have closed for candidates seeking the vacant Director-at-Large seat for 2014. Voting runs from December 13, 2013 until January 16, 2014, 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time and is underway.

The Alberta Equestrian Federation (AEF) has carefully reviewed the candidates standing for election and we STRONGLY encourage our members to vote.  Each AEF member is a member of EC; you DO NOT have to be a Sport License holder to vote.  In order to vote you must be 18 years of age or over in the year of election and be an Individual Member in good standing. Each individual can cast one vote for the Director-at-Large.

The 2014 candidates standing for election are:

  1. Tony Eames

  1. Kim Inglis

  1. Tony La Giorgia

While the AEF does not believe we should be advocating one nominee over another.... we believe that horse owners across Canada should be voting for a candidate who has the highest qualifications as possible. Whether somebody has horse related experience or not (and all three do) it is Corporate experience, job costing experience, determined to make change and track record that should be the criteria in not only those nominated but the person we vote for.  The key though is for you to vote.

How do you vote?

ON-LINE: Go to https://licence.equinecanada.ca/dal_vote/ and login using your personal Equine Canada username and password to register to vote. You can immediately complete the voting process after your successful registration.

If, as a member, you do not have an Equine Canada username and password to login, please complete the online self-registration form as soon as possible and login information will be provided.

Deadline: Online self-registration and email registration ends January 14, 2014.

BY EMAIL and Mail-In: Members can vote by mail if they prefer by contacting the Equine Canada voting services at nominations@equinecanada.ca to request a Register to Vote Form.  Once you are registered, you'll receive an election package and ballot either by mail, fax or e-mail as per your request.

Deadline for Email and Mail-in Vote Form: Your vote must be received at the Equine Canada office no later than 4 pm, Eastern Standard Time, January 16, 2014.  If you have questions regarding the 2013 Director-At-Large election process, please contact Katherine Strong at kstrong@equinecanada.ca or call 1 866 282 8395 x 130.

The successful candidate will be introduced at the Equine Canada Annual General Meeting, February 7, 2014, as part of the Equine Canada Annual Convention to be held at the Radisson Winnipeg from February 5 - 9, 2014.
