Alberta Flooding...

-Message from AEF President, Les Oakes

"As I traveled around a bit of southern Alberta today arranging some drop shipments of forage for the horses and their owners who were seriously affected by the floods I was thrilled and touched to talk to many of those who were working so hard to help the less fortunate who had to move their animals to safer temporary housing.

The AEF posted a call for help on Thursday, June 20 at 6:40 pm on our facebook page for horse owners that needed assistance with transportation and pasture. By midnight, over 100 people had offered to help! It is times like these that speak volumes about the friendship and goodwill in the horse community.

To those of you affected by the floods in and throughout Alberta, do not hesitate to call the AEF for help and we will do our best to put you touch with those who have volunteered their time and money to help those in need. We are thinking of everyone in these times of trial and trust you, your families, your homes and livestock are safe and sound.

All the best to everyone; we ask that you please keep spreading the word about our facebook page and keep sharing our status on how everyone can pitch in to help. We want to help support all Albertans and fellow AEF members that are needing help with their horses, families and other livestock due to the floods!"

"On behalf of the AEF staff and the Board of Directors, thank you all very much for your help and your contributions . Indeed the horse community is one big family. "

If you have a story to share with us, please let us know at marketing@albertaequestrian.com .

Capri Insurance Offers Sympathies/Support to Those Affected by Recent Alberta Flooding

- Message from Capri, Michael A. King, CAIB, R.I.B

"My colleagues and I wanted to send a message to the AEF and it's members regarding the recent floods - first to tell all affected by this event that our thoughts are with you.

We know this is a very difficult time for many of your members and expect that there will be many questions in the coming days and weeks about coverage from insurers - including some of the carriers we represent.

I wanted to let you know that we have been contacting clients in Alberta and will continue to do so to offer assistance where we can.

If I may be of assistance to you, your staff or your members, please let me know."
