NCCP Fall Equestrian Theory Courses

 

Calgary September 29/30, 2012 (AEF Office)Edmonton October 27/28, 2012 (Whitemud Equine Learning Center)

 

This course is a great course for equestrians who want to learn more about the following modules:

  • Equestrian Teaching and Learning
  • Planning an Equestrian Lesson
  • Analyzing Beginner Equestrian Performance
  • Making Ethical Decisions

The course is a 2 day classroom based course taught by our highly certified Learning Facilitators. It is open for anyone to attend.

Participants will receive a workbook, reference manual and certificates of completion.


It is also highly recommended as a training course for those wishing to receive future Instructor and Coach certification.

 EC General Performance Judges Clinic with Lorraine Gilchrist

  

Date: October 13-14, 2012

Location: Olds College, AB

Registration Deadline: September 15, 2012 

 

The AEF Provincial Official's Program is pleased to host a two-day EC General Performance Clinic with EC Senior judge, Lorraine Gilchrist.

This clinic is open to judges, coaches, competitors and all individuals interested in General Performance Judging. 

AEF membership is required.

AEF Provincial Dressage Judges Clnic with Lorraine MacDonald
 

Date: October 27, 2012

Location: Trakehner Glen Stables, Priddis, AB

Registration Deadline: October 12, 2012 

 

The AEF Provincial Official's Program presents a one-day provincial dressage judges clinic with FEI judge, Lorraine MacDonald, at Trakehner Glen Stables, October 27, 2012.

Priority will be given to the April clinic applicants, but this clinic will also provide an educational workshop for coaches, competitors, EC judges and anyone interested in learning how tests are scored.

AEF membership is required.  

Cost: $110 (incl. GST)

NCCP Competition Coach Workshop

 

Lethbridge November 24/25, 2012 (Lethbridge College)

 

This course is a more advanced course for equestrians who want to learn more about the following modules:

  • Designing an Equestrian Sport Program
  • Managing an Equestrian Sport Program
  • Training Mental Skills for Equestrian Sport

COMPLETE SURVEY FOR YOUR CHANCE TO WIN A EQUINE GUELPH eWorkshop!

To help assess current biosecurity practices and training needs at breeding farms, you are invited to participate in a research study being coordinated by Dr. Ulrika Gronlund Andersson and Dr. Scott Weese from the University of Guelph in collaboration with Dr. Dickson Varner from the Texas A & M University, US, Dr. Paul Morley and Dr. Josie Traub-Dragatz from the Colorado State University, US.  The confidential survey will take 45-60 minutes to complete.

AEF CONFERENCE NEWS

  

 SILENT AUCTION:

The Alberta Equestrian Federation (AEF) will be conducting a Silent Auction during our Annual Conference November 16-18, 2012. All the proceeds from the silent auction will go toward supporting our youth Live Outside the Box Program. This program encourages youth to spend less time in front of the TV and computer and spend more time outside being active! 
 
Businesses, associations and individuals alike are invited to please consider a donation to the Auction and help support this program.   Suggestions for donations could be your products, gift certificates, riding gear, clothing, gift baskets, riding lessons,  original art, paintings etc. All of the silent auction donors will be recognized at the conference.

This is a great way to get our members familiar with your company and products and to support a great program.

Ride and Drive Program
Ride and Drive

 The Ride and Drive Program is a great program to keep equestrians motivated and staying active! Simply register for the program and receive your very own Ride and Drive Log book, pen, welcome certificate and letter and start logging the hours you spend in the saddle and or driving your horse to win some great prizes! Podium Alberta Funding Program

 

 Please note the upcoming deadline of October 1 for application to the Podium Alberta funding program. This program is available to athletes carded through Sport Canada's Athlete Assistance Program (AAP).  Athletes carded at any point between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012 could be eligible for up to 33% of their federal funding.

 

Emails were sent yesterday to last year's recipients, as well as the NSO sport contacts.

Please note that NCAA eligibility can be affected through acceptance of this grant - the NCAA asked several past recipients to pay back their funding to a charity. There are, however, allowances for those in individual sports to receive funding for "actual and necessary" expenses relating to competition. As such, we have modified the application this year to record those expenses if applicable.

The Alberta Equestrian Federation (AEF) is a member driven, nonprofit Provincial organization responsible for organizing, coordinating, sanctioning and administering equine sport and recreation in Alberta since 1978. 

Membership is in excess of 13,000 individual members as well as over 200 member equine Provincial organizations and industry partners. The AEF is the only Equestrian Body recognized by Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation. As such, we are the only body to directly receive funding and to have a voice within the Alberta Government on behalf of all equestrians in Alberta.
