Congratulations to Meagan Beunder - Jump Canada Bursary Recipient

Meagan Beunder, 15, first became interested in show jumping when she was five years of age when she would attend Spruce Meadows Tournaments with her mom as a spectator. At the age of 10, Beunder, a resident of Calgary, AB, started to ride and quickly progressed from the cross-rail division to the 1.15m jumper classes. In 2011, Beunder demonstrated her versatility as a rider by winning both hunter and jumper classics at the gold level. With a goal of representing Canada at the international level, Beunder also has plans to pursue a university degree in business management once she completes high school.

Each year, Jump Canada selects worthy recipients of its Bursary program based on the strength of applications received. Elements considered in the application process include a transcript of grades and outline of academic curriculum; future educational plans; equestrian experience; commitment and dedication to their sport; a positive image within the sport; achievement of notable competition results, whether at the local, regional or national level; goals within the equestrian industry; and financial need.

For additional details regarding the Jump Canada Youth Bursary Program, please visit the Jump Canada website at www.equinecanada.ca/jumpcanada.

Help us Grow our "Herd" of Programs

Please consider a donation to the Alberta Equestrian Federation. All amounts big or small qualify for the AEF's application to the Alberta Community Spirit Donation Grant to match your donation amount.

The donation grant provides an opportunity for eligible non-profit organizations to receive a provincial grant. The grant is based on total annual cash donations from individual Albertans that have been received by an eligible organization over a 12-month fiscal period. The grant can be used to support an organization's operations, programs and/or capital projects. The maximum grant available is $25,000 up to a maximum of $50,000 over three years. A minimum total of $1,000 in eligible cash donations needs to be received prior to applying for a grant.

This grant goes toward supporting our programs and educational scholarships given out each year to AEF members.

The AEF will apply for a matching government grant, which effectively doubles any contribution from an individual.   Help us reach our goal of raising $10,000 in cash donations this year.

Help us grow our "herd" of great programs.  Together we can make a difference in Alberta for our equine community.

Visit our online donation page https://www.albertaequestrian.com/Donate  or contact the office.
