West Bragg Creek Trails Update
The All-Season Trails will be soft and muddy over the next month as they thaw out and become susceptible to rainfall. These new New multi-use summer trails were built in the west Bragg Creek area of Kananaskis Country in 2011. The new trails are susceptible to premature wear and erosion and need time to compact and harden.
All users' cooperation is needed to ensure the development of a sustainable trail system.
All Users: Please do not use new trails when they are soft and wet.
Equestrian Users: Severe damage from horses has already impacted some of the trails. New trails are not yet firm enough for equestrian use. Excessive damage can occur even in dry weather. Trails may be open to equestrian use by mid-summer 2012. Please use existing ski trails until further notice.
These trails are being built through private and public donations, and the contributions of thousands of hours of volunteer services.
Also note that due to environmental sensitivity, Snowshoe Hare Loop is closed annually from April 1 to Nov 30.
For more info please contact:
Eric Lloyd, Special Projects Coordinator, Greater Bragg Creek Trails Association, Chair, West Bragg Creek All Season Trails Plan Implementation Phone: (403) 949-2696

Help us Grow our "Herd" of Programs
Please consider a donation to the Alberta Equestrian Federation. All amounts big or small qualify for the AEF's application to the Alberta Community Spirit Donation Grant to match your donation amount.
The donation grant provides an opportunity for eligible non-profit organizations to receive a provincial grant. The grant is based on total annual cash donations from individual Albertans that have been received by an eligible organization over a 12-month fiscal period. The grant can be used to support an organization's operations, programs and/or capital projects. The maximum grant available is $25,000 up to a maximum of $50,000 over three years. A minimum total of $1,000 in eligible cash donations needs to be received prior to applying for a grant.
This grant goes toward supporting our programs and educational scholarships given out each year to AEF members.
The AEF will apply for a matching government grant, which effectively doubles any contribution from an individual. Help us reach our goal of raising $10,000 in cash donations this year.
Help us grow our "herd" of great programs. Together we can make a difference in Alberta for our equine community.
