On the West District website www.inumc.org/westdistrict, you will notice the VIRTUAL OFFICE CALENDAR Button.  Click on it.  This will lead you to a screen that displays John Groves, John Davis and Katie Swisher's Calendars for a week or two in advance.

 

It is our hope that when you notice where we are planning our "office for the day" you will join us for conversation and share what exciting events are taking place in your places of worship and ministry.

 

This office time is open to the laity and clergy.

Indiana United Methodist Conference Center Positions

Administrative Assistant

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana United Methodist Conference Center, based in Indianapolis, has an immediate opening for an Administrative Assistant. The candidate will provide administrative support for the Indiana Conference Assistant Director of Office and Conference Services.  This person needs to be available to work 28-to-35 hours per week in the Conference Center. Essentials include: Knowledgeable about The United Methodist Church ; sensitive to diversity; excellent keyboarding and proofreading skills; experience in computer applications for database management, spreadsheets, event registration, word processing and financial reports; knowledgeable of general office equipment;  dependable; trustworthy; a team player.  Letter of interest, application form and resume must be sent electronically to [email protected]. In carrying out this process, the conference is seeking diversity in culture, race and gender. Applications received by Friday, June 27 will be given first consideration. 

Communication Director

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Conference of The United Methodist Church based in Indianapolis seeks a dynamic and creative full-time Communication Director to oversee a comprehensive communication plan that includes recruiting and supervising a team to fulfill the essential functions of Conference Communication. This person needs to be knowledgeable, experienced and skilled in editing and writing for print and electronic media plus knowledgeable in social media, audio, video and photographic production. This leadership position also will include the use of marketing, communication education, communication resources, crisis communication and the ability to relate in a positive way with public media. A workable knowledge of The United Methodist Church is essential. Indiana Conference Communication is housed in the Episcopal Office and under the supervision of the Executive Assistant to the Bishop. Salary is negotiable depending on education and experience. Pianist Needed

Putnamville United Methodist Church is in need of a new pianist. The worship service starts at 10:30 a.m. This is a paid position that will begin in August. If you are interested in this position, please contact Pastor Tim Matthews at 765-653-1049.

Mission U 2014:
Learning Together for the Transformation of the World
July 22-26, 2014
DePauw University, Greencastle, IN 

Effective 2013, the School of Christian Mission changed its name to Mission u: Learning Together for the Transformation of the World.

Mission u is the primary mission education event for the Indiana Annual Conference and is planned and implemented by United Methodist Women of Indiana. In addition to the adult programming for ages 17 and up, there are two components: 

  • ChiMiCa (Children's Mission Camp) for ages 3 through 5th grade completed (childcare is provided)
  • YoPeMiCa (Young Peoples Mission Camp) for middle and high school aged youth

The youth and children's studies parallel the adult studies to create an intergenerational program. Studies are always Biblically-grounded, promote spiritual growth, educate and challenge participants to become more actively engaged in mission.

Holy Land Mission Trip
November 3-12, 2014

Michael & Barbara Grady are hosting a mission trip and pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Join us in interacting with children at a Christian school in Bethlehem and seeing the Biblical sites in Israel and Palestine. We still have 4 spaces available. Pathways Through The Bible Trip
November 24 - December 3, 2014

Dave Marty and his wife will be hosting a tour of Israel/Palestine through the Jerusalem Center for Biblical Studies (a branch of Educational Opportunities), and you are invited to join them!
