Staff of the Friendship Center and Rocky the New Britain Rock Cats mascot delivered turkeys and all the trimmings to households enrolled in the "Adopt a Family" program just in time for holiday preparations. At left staff gather up non-perishables made possible from in-kind donations: (l to r) Julia Grasso, social work intern, Rachael Davis, director supportive housing, and Catherine Evans, case manager and "Adopt a Family" coordinator. At right, Rocky brings around the thanksgiving centerpiece... plump juicy turkeys donated by the New Britain Rock Cats.

You name it, she did it!

Rachael Davis says her bittersweet goodbye to a dependable colleague and friend.

Staff must say goodbye to a long-time member of the Friendship Center family... the retiring agency van. Over the years, she hauled everything from people, furniture and food to household goods, antiques and bicycles. Her assignments included trips to Foodshare, dump runs, donation pick-ups and the moving of client households. Her service was also important to the former "Love Made Visible," Vintage Shop and Youth Bicycle programs.
A newer, smaller, more efficient donated replacement van would be most welcome. Please contact us if you know of one that we might consider.
