THE DECEMBER BLOW-BY-BLOWGreetings!
Thanks for reading our December newsletter. It was a big month for the boating industry as the huge marine trade show (METS) was held as usual in Amsterdam and all the shiny new toys were unveiled. You'll see many of these products at the various boat shows this winter, but if you want a sneak peek, check out some of the DAME (innovation award) winners. Spinlock's Deckvest Lite is one of our favourites. If anything catches your eye, let us know and we'll investigate!

The Ongoing Destruction/Renovations at Pride Marine
Due to our ongoing renovations, the store showroom will continue to be closed until mid December, but that hasn't stopped some of you from dropping by to witness the action (and carnage).
Although the showroom is officially closed, we will continue to accept web orders and special orders during this period.
We appreciate your patience and are excited to announce our grand re-opening shortly!

November Pop Quiz Results
Last month we asked you to identify the highlighted anchor part. We're proud to announce that 72% of you answered "fluke", which was the correct answer. Technically, we should have called them "flukes" because two are highlighted, and we're happy that no one called us on it.

Poll Question: LYRA 2012 Regatta
LYRA's (Lake Yacht Racing Association) 2012 Regatta will be held in Oswego, NY on the first weekend of August 2012. This event normally hosts 2 days of racing for the PHRF fleet (in contrast to the 3 days for other fleets), but a discussion is taking place on this particular subject.
Since many of the participants travel large distances to attend, should this year's event have 3 days of course racing for the PHRF fleet, or should it keep the current 2-day format? Potential race attendees are asked to submit their preference.

Marooned? No Big Deal!
Yachting on the high seas has its potential dangers. Have you ever laid awake at night wondering what you would do if you were shipwrecked on a deserted island with no streams or visible source of drinking water? Worry no more!
Thanks to HowStuffWorks, we know know how to create a beach well - a useful skill when you find yourself in this particular situation. As for distilling it into rum, you're on your own.

New Site Feature: Enhanced Searching
We've beefed up our site's search function! Not only can you add or remove search filters, but as well the results include photos, product details, and product codes - all three should help you find the item you're looking for faster and more effectively. Take it for a spin! P.S., We've also beefed up our links page with local marine services (Kingston), weather links and a "partial list" of the brands we carry.
