Friday, September 2nd is College Colors Day! Students and staff around the nation will be wearing college gear to celebrate their commitment to higher education.
At DES, we are dedicated to helping all students become college and career ready. Help us in our mission of early college awareness by encouraging your child to dress up and participate. To make this day more meaningful, your child may select a college fact/trivia to share with their class
We are looking forward to another great year at DES!

We're looking for volunteers to help with School Store for the new school year!
The school store sells a variety of items, including:
- School supplies - Pencils, lead replacement, rulers, glue, paper, pencil pouches
- School-related items with Fun Themes - Pencil toppers, pencil sharpeners, smelly erasers and highlighters, multi-color pens, bookmarks
- Many other items - Notepads, key chains, wallets, and small toys
- Spirit Wear Items - DES clothes, water bottles, magnets
The store is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the cafeteria between 7:10 and 7:40am before school begins. The children LOVE the store and we hate to turn them away if we can't get through the line.
This store provides children experience with money skills, and all proceeds benefit the PTO. The success of our school store is entirely dependent on volunteers and works best when we have two volunteers at each shift.
It's also a great way to get in your volunteer hours before the work day starts!
If you have any questions about what to do if you're new, please do not hesitate to ask!
Thank you!
Kim-Lee Yarberry and Dana Coulter

The best way to find out what you do best is to do it. Catch a fish. Ride a bike. Set up a tent. Build a pinewood derbyŽ car. Cook over a campfire.
Cub Scouting offers boys the opportunity to see and learn fun, new things that can't be found anywhere else.
The life lessons learned help form a foundation to embrace opportunity and overcome obstacles.
Cub Scout Pack 266, chartered by Dunwoody United Methodist Church and home to many scouts from DES is committed to helping boys do their best and have fun doing it, and we are opening our doors to new scouts.
To get basic scouting information and dates and times for pack 266 events and new parent Q&A sessions, please visit:
