From the PTO Co-Presidents
Ready or not! It is time to head back to school, and we hope that everyone has a great start! Please remember to be patient with carpool and the buses during these first two weeks as the routes and routines are learned. If you were unable to come to registration day on August 3rd, please come to the media center to complete required paperwork!
Thank you so much for all who contributed to the Tiger Fund, Annual Dues and PTO dues! Your donations are so appreciated and are used for facility enhancements, new technology, teacher training, and teacher appreciation! In addition to those of you who gave money, many thanks to those who have shared their time as we prepare to start the school year! Cara Engel and Andrew Ziffer have worked diligently on the website, directory, and registration technology! Jennifer Fenmore and Sasha Tocio were instrumental in the organization of Registration Day, and Lauren Middlebrooks worked all summer to bring you adorable spirit wear and thus raise funds for DES! Merrie Bouton and Terica Harleaux organized a back to school breakfast to welcome our staff to another year! The list goes on and on of those sharing their time and talent to keep things running smoothly! We would love to see all parents volunteer at least 10 hours this year! Opportunities abound! Please visit www.dunwoodypto.com for more information! Thanks, and make it a great first day!

Friday, August 19 - 6:45 to 7:45am
Please arrive for breakfast in the cafeteria (6:45 - 7:15am)
Program will begin in the media center at 7:20.
This month's topic is "Being Healthy"
All Pro Dad Dad's Day is a simple idea with a profound impact. It's a one-hour monthly breakfast held before school where fathers and their children meet with other dads and kids in the school cafeteria. During this time, we will discuss a wide range of family topics, spend time together, create fun memories, and leave equipped with resources to strengthen your relationship with your child.
The program is fun and free! All you need to do is attend, and if you want to purchase breakfast, you may do so in the cafeteria by using your child'smyschoolbucks account, cash or check ($1.65 adults, $1.20 children). If you do not have a myschoolbucks account, please register for one at MySchoolBucks.com before the meeting.
To help with keeping the parking lot and carpool drop off running smoothly, please park at GA Perimeter College and walk over to school.
Please visit our chapter website for dates and more information.

DES Lunch Bunch Needs You!
Lunch Bunch is a group of volunteers who help out in the cafeteria during lunch. The volunteers help the children with their lunch needs such as opening up containers and wiping down the tables.
It is a great way to see your child at lunchtime and meet their classmates. The children love to see the parents help out and be part of DES.
Please consider helping out this semester. Your help is a big part of what makes DES such a great school.

Corporate Sponsors Needed
From Community Business Support:
Corporate Sponsors are still needed for 2016 - 2017. If you run a business or work for one that likes to support community initiatives, consider sponsoring our school! Sponsorship packages run from Bronze ($300) to Platinum ($2,500) and allow PTO to support our teachers and students through training and capital improvements. Many of our corporate sponsors are actually parents who are investing in DES. All sponsors receive brand awareness opportunities with our more than 800 families. To learn more, download this document, or you can contact Community Business Support Co-Chairs Shana Sullivan Sullivan0820@yahoo.com and/or Laurie Nichols chowning@comcast.net.
Thanks,
Shana and Laurie
