January 9 - This special Saturday occurrence of All Pro Dad focuses on Cyber Safety. Please RSVP and come join other fathers and their children for this great program geared towards the electronics that may have been received over the break.

January 12 - Kick off the new year with our first spirit night at Chick-fil-A from 5 - 8pm.  A percentage of sales from this night will come directly back to DES.

Please spread the word about the many great things happening at DES and invite any prospective parents to this informational meeting at the school.  The meeting will begin at 5:30pm. and will be held in the cafeteria.

January 27 - Principal's Coffee - The topic of this informational meeting will be the Gifted Program and Georgia Milestones.  This will be held in the Media Center starting at 7:45am.

As we begin the second semester of the school year, be sure to think about how you can get involved at DES. There are many opportunities like volunteering in your child's classroom, helping in the media center or the cafeteria during lunchtime or working on one of the many PTO committees.  Your involvement at DES helps show your child that school is important.  Our PTO Website has a page dedicated to getting involved, including committee descriptions and contact information. We hope you will become involved! Let us know if we can help you find a way to be part of the volunteers at DES.

Happy New Year!
