From the PTO Co-Presidents

Welcome back to all our families!  We hope you had a wonderful break and we look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming events in the month of January.  Please remember that there is NO SCHOOL tomorrow and all students return on Tuesday, January 5th.

January 9 - This special Saturday occurrence of All Pro Dad focuses on Cyber Safety. Please RSVP and come join other fathers and their children for this great program geared towards the electronics that may have been received over the break.
January 12 - Kick off the new year with our first spirit night at Chick-fil-A from 5 - 8pm.  A percentage of sales from this night will come directly back to DES.
January 15 - This normal Friday occurrence of All Pro Dad starts at 6:45am. Please join along with other fathers and their children for this great hour long program.
January 21 - PTO General Membership Meeting to elect our Nominating Committee and Prospective Parent Night. If you are interested in serving on the Nominating Committee to elect our Executive Board for 2016-2017 school year, please let me know.  jenniferfenmore@yahoo.com

Please spread the word about the many great things happening at DES and invite any prospective parents to this informational meeting at the school.  The meeting will begin at 5:30pm. and will be held in the cafeteria.
January 27 - Principal's Coffee - The topic of this informational meeting will be the Gifted Program and Georgia Milestones.  This will be held in the Media Center starting at 7:45am.
As we begin the second semester of the school year, be sure to think about how you can get involved at DES. There are many opportunities like volunteering in your child's classroom, helping in the media center or the cafeteria during lunchtime or working on one of the many PTO committees.  Your involvement at DES helps show your child that school is important.  Our PTO Website has a page dedicated to getting involved, including committee descriptions and contact information. We hope you will become involved! Let us know if we can help you find a way to be part of the volunteers at DES.
Happy New Year!

Cyber Safety Breakfast
Saturday, January 9, 9-11am

All Pro Dads is hosting a cyber safety breakfast on Saturday, January 9 at 9am to help parents and kids learn more about how to be safe on line. Many children likely received electronic devices as gifts and we want to help you keep your kids safe.

Cyber safety expert Ben Halpert will speak and we'll have Tech Experts on hand to help parents adjust control settings on their children's devices.  Breakfast will be served and we'll have an activity for the kids.
Please RSVP to our Cyber Safety breakfast before Saturday, January 9th. There will be a limit to the number of attendees, so please RSVP at http://apdd.allprodad.com/2657.
