Where in the World is Mrs. Sanders?
Our principal is taking a virtual trip around the world to help our students
learn more about the world around them. Starting on Monday, October 19, we'll give the students one clue a day on WDES to see if they can figure out the week's destination. They'll have a chance to guess by putting their name, homeroom teacher, grade, and country name on a piece of paper and dropping it in the PTO Mailbox near the office.
We'll pick a winner for a small prize at the end of the week when we reveal the correct country. We'll continue this for four weeks.
How can you help?
- Do you have family connections to a country that you would like our students to know more about?
- Do you have any clothing from that country that Mrs. Sanders could wear on Reveal Day each Friday?
If so, please send an email to:

Please arrive for breakfast in the cafeteria (6:45 - 7:15am)
Program will begin in the media center at 7:20.

Box Tops Blitz - Earn Money for DES!
It's easy to earn money for DES with BOX TOPS for Education. And this month we are having a raffle and classroom contest to collect Box Tops! Here's how it works:
- Clip Box Tops from every day products you buy.
- Put them in a sandwich bag.
- Write your name on the baggie along with grade and homeroom teacher's name.
- 50 Box tops = 1 entry (the more you turn in, the better chance you have!)
- Place your labeled bag in the Box Tops containers located in the front hall or to your teacher.
Each boxtop is worth $.10 to the school. Our first collection date is Friday, October 16. Please tell your family and friends to save them for DES. Our goal is to raise $2000 dollars this year - that is 20,000 box tops!!! For questions, contact Katie Frame.
What are BOX TOPS?
They are those little rectangles that look like the one above found on commonly used items such as General Mills cereals, Betty Crocker products, Ziploc Bags, Yoplait, Pillsbury, and so many more! When you see these, clip them, check the expiration date, and put them in a sandwich baggie labeled with your child's name, homeroom, and the number of Box Tops on the bag! Any number turned in is appreciated, but for every 50 collected, your child's name will be entered into a raffle. Five names will be drawn in the fall and the spring, and prizes awarded! And, the homeroom class collecting the most Box Tops will receive popsicles on the playground during recess or a prize! The first deadline for the year for turning Box Tops in will be Friday, October 16!
To learn more, and for a complete list of products as well as information about e-Box Tops, please visit www.btfe.com.
