Thank you to the PTO members that came out to our brief PTO meeting on Thursday. The Nominating Committee announced the slate for our 2015-2016 Executive Committee. The nominees are as follows:

After our PTO meeting we had a wonderful Family Dinner Night and Math/Science Expo! Thank you to our Family Events Committee, Amanda Becker and Jordon Winters, for coordinating the event. Students and parents also enjoyed the many math and science stations set-up and run by Georgia Perimeter College. Thank you to all of the families that came out and enjoyed a night with family and friends.
Our Scholastic Book Fair last week was extremely successful. Many thanks to our Book Fair chairs, Jennifer Seitz and Katie Frame, who organized this wonderful event. We also want to acknowledge the many volunteers, who spent their valuable free time helping our parents, teachers, and students shop. You are all wonderful and we thank you!

School Council Elections
The election process for new members of School Council will begin March 26th with a call for nominations. Nomination forms will be sent home in the TIP folder and posted on the DES Website. Nominations will be due Friday, April 3rd.
 You may nominate yourself if you would like. Bios of the nominees will be posted online and in the main office when we return from Spring Break the week of April 13th. Elections will be held on Thursday, April 23rd (Evening of the Arts).
There are four (4) parent positions open with two year terms.

Donate to the Eco Sneakers Program
Time to clean out those closets and donate any unwanted rubber bottom shoes to Girls on the Run! The shoes will be donated to the Eco Sneakers program. We will be collecting shoes until April 24. There will be a collection box at the front of the school, or you can drop items off at Ms. Young's kindergarten class (Rm 1329).

Volunteers of the Month
Congratulations to Laurie Nichols! She won the February Volunteer of the Month Raffle and received a gift basket from Sprouts! In order to be eligible for the raffle next month, volunteer at school (or do school volunteer work at home) for at least 2 hours and log those hours by the end of March.
Congratulations to Sushma Barakota! She logged the most hours for the months of January and February (50!) and gets to use the reserved/ specially marked parking space for the entire month of March! If you are the one to log the most hours in the month of March, the parking space will be yours in April!
It's easy to log your hours in order to be considered for next month's Volunteers of the Month prizes!! Simply go to the Dunwoody Elementary PTOwebsite and follow the "Log Volunteer Hours" link.

Dunwoody High School Experiment Day
On Saturday, March 28, the DHS National Honor Society is hosting an Experiment day, from 11am- 2pm at Dunwoody High School. It is a great opportunity for kids to learn more about science in a fun way! There will be demonstrations in many fields of science to encourage kids to further their interest in the sciences.

How to Send an Announcement Using Tiger Talk
Tiger Talk is the weekly e-newsletter of the Dunwoody Elementary School PTO. Every Sunday, we publish information that is pertinent to the students and parents of DES.
The submission deadline for each issue is 10pm on Tuesday.
All announcements must be brief and sent in writing as an email to Dunwoody.TigerTalk@gmail.com. Announcements will run for two weeks prior to the event or as applicable. If you have any questions about Tiger Talk, please contact the editors at Dunwoody.TigerTalk@gmail.com.

Our school's Facebook page and Twitter account will be used to promote upcoming school events and communications. We will also allow comments from our DES community but through daily monitoring we will remove anything that is not appropriate.
