From Our PTO Co-Presidents
BUNDLE UP - IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!
As we head into the cold weather months, please remember to bundle up your children before sending them off to the bus stop or through carpool in the morning. In addition, please make sure to label all of your child's outerwear with their name so that, in the event that any item is left on the playground or is misplaced somewhere on school grounds, we can promptly return the item to your child's homeroom teacher.
LOST AND FOUND - DONATIONS TWICE PER MONTH FOR UNCLAIMED ITEMS!
Please make sure that your child remembers to check lost and found for any items that they may misplace during the day. We are donating lost and found items more frequently. All unclaimed lost and found items will now be donated on the 1st and 15th of every month. Making sure that your child's clothing is labeled will help us expedite returns!
STEM CAREER DAY!
Thank you to all of our parent volunteers who are participating in our STEM Career day tomorrow! Each classroom will have at least one presenter discuss their STEM related career. Thank you to all of our Room Parents and our Room Parent Coordinators for creating a school list of parents with STEM related careers.
Have a great week.

New WDES Feature
Ask your child about a new feature on WDES, the school newscast that airs in classrooms every morning. We just began a four-week trivia contest called "Where in the World is Mrs. Sanders?"
Our adventurous principal will log a lot of miles as she travels to four different countries. Students can guess where she'll land next based on clues given out every morning. Students can submit their guesses on a piece of paper with their names, home room and grade. They'll need to drop it on the PTO mailbox near the front office. We'll reveal the country and pick one winner each week for a coupon prize pack.

Parent Resources
Dear Families,
All students have access to the reading software used at school, iStation. Parents can go to www.istation.com, select "support," and then "download istation." The icon will appear on the desktop. The user name and password can be retrieved from the homeroom teacher.
Students in grades 3-5 will take the new Georgia Milestones assessment this spring. Parents can provide practice and support at home by
utilizing the Online Assessment System (OAS). The website is
http://www.georgiaoas.org. The user name is the student's GTID Number which you will get from your child's teacher. The password is dekalb.

Drop them off at the office by 10am on the morning of November 20th. You can even bring them in when you drop off your kids.
Please use disposable containers or platters, and label what your dessert is. Teachers love your homemade treats, so thank you for your support!

During the month of November we will be discussing the Importance of Heart Health in the gym. Our department is also excited about participating in the Jump Rope for Heart program sponsored by the American Heart Association. We will be participating in "ONLINE GIVING." November 3rd through November 21st we will be trying to raise money for this wonderful organization which funds lifesaving heart and stroke research. Please visit www.heart.org/jump to make your donation. Please do not bring in cash or checks! Dunwoody is only accepting Online Donations! Bring your RECIEPT to PE/Health Class. Money is NOT required in order to participate in the program; however, any money donated is GREATLY APPRECIATED!
We are definitely going to have a great month FULL of FUN jump rope activities. Our goal is $20,000! In 2012-2013 as a school we raised $19,800. Jump at the chance to fight heart disease and stroke!
Thanks
