From Our PTO Co-Presidents
As we head into November, REMEMBER to FALL BACK! The time changed Saturday night, so if you haven't done so already, please set all of your clocks back one hour!
The mornings are dark when you drop your children off at the bus stop or in carpool. Please do your part to ensure the safety of our children by adhering to the safety guidelines as they relate to carpool. Now that it is dark in the morning, we do not want to take any risks, so please stay off of your cell phones in the carpool line, and pay close to attention to pedestrian traffic in the parking lot and at the crosswalk on Womack Road.
Last, but certainly not least, we would like to thank all of our volunteers for working so hard over the last few months around our school. We couldn't run all the fabulous programs we offer to our children without our parent volunteers, so thank you again for all you do to make DES a wonderful place to be! Please remember to log your volunteer hours so that you are eligible for the PTO monthly raffle.
In addition, tomorrow is Tiger Paw Celebration Day. Students will enjoy a dance party during Specials. Congratulations to all of our students for earning Tiger Paws, way to go!
We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday from 4-9pm for our Mad Italian Spirit Night!
Have a great week.

From Our School Nurse
During each school year, I perform universal hearing and vision screenings on all 3rd grade students. These screenings will be conducted during the month of November.
If your child wears glasses, please make sure that they bring their glasses to school every day. You will NOT hear from me if your student passes both parts. I will only contact you if your student does not pass one or both of the screenings. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about these screenings.
