From the PTO Co-Presidents
What a fantastic week with Walk to School Wednesday and Field Days on both Thursday and Friday! Our students enjoyed fun and exciting activities, inflatable slides and fantastic music. What a great way to round out the week. A great big thank you to Mrs. Reynolds and Coach Kaminski, Ms. Gurin and Mr. Bellknapp for running the music and DJ-ing, as well as our Field Day Chairs, Kris Mamaghani and Kitty Raggles! Thank you to all of our parent volunteers who worked at stations, walked with classrooms and spent the day taking care of our students!
This Tuesday we will celebrate all of the wonderful accomplishments of our students with Honor's Day. Our lower grades will receive their awards in their classrooms. Our upper grades will receive their awards in the cafeteria on Tuesday morning on the following schedule:
3rd grade - 8:15 am
4th grade - 9:15 am
5th Grade - 10:15 am
If you decide to attend Honor's Day for your child, please keep in mind that we are on a tight schedule and we will only have a few minutes for photographs in between each grade level program.
As the end of the school draws near, if you are a PTO Committee Chair and you have any outstanding receipts, please submit these expenses to our Treasurer, April Toms, no later than May 15th for reimbursement. Once again, thank you to all of our parent volunteers this year!
Happy Mother's Day to all of our DES Moms!

they can use their time to prepare for school closing.

Library Books
Parents,As the end of the school year is quickly approaching, the library is getting ready as well. The final due date for library books is May 16th. Please help your child remember to turn in all of their outstanding books.
If your child is unable to locate his/her library book, let me know and I will be happy to provide you with the replacement cost. DeKalb County School District policy requires restitution or replacement of lost materials before students are allowed to check-out books from any DeKalb County School District Media Center or receive their end of the year report cards.
Which grade level will win the Race to Return this year?
Thank you for your support!
