Announcements

From Our Principal

Greetings!

The Department of Education released the College and Career Readiness Performance Index (CCRPI) scores this week. I am please to announce that Dunwoody Elementary scored exceptionally well with a score of 93.7. The DOE has provided a public rating of schools using the CCRPI score since last year. Our school has performed comparable to other Dunwoody schools and is one of the few schools in DeKalb County to earn a score above 90. I am proud of the work of our staff and students. Thank you to all parents for your continued support and encouragement!

We have also recently completed our Safe School Audit which included a lockdown drill. Our school passed the audit with a perfect score plus bonus points (102 total points). The audit team praised our quick response to the lockdown with all doors locked and students completely out of sight. Our students did a great job of remaining incredibly quiet throughout the entire drill. We also passed all required adult trainings and the student training for the Code of Conduct. Students and teachers were praised for having hallpasses, keeping the hallways safe, and monitoring student transitions.

I want to commend Dunwoody Elementary students and teachers for their hard work! Our school is an exceptional place for students to learn and grow.

DES 2014 Survey

Every year the School Council sends out a survey to get your feedback on the school. This is an important tool for teachers, administrators, and PTO. Please take a few minutes to provide your experience on the school. All answers are confidential and will be provided to administration and PTO from the survey software. Individual concerns that merit a conference should be brought directly to your student's teacher.

Thanks for taking the time to let us know what you think!

The survey will be open until May 2nd.

School Climate Consultant

Dunwoody Elementary has a wonderful opportunity to work closely with an outside consultant in order to improve and enhance school climate/culture.

The consultant will work individually and in dialogue circles with all teachers.  She would also like the opportunity to work with our parents and community.  The consultant has scheduled two sessions for community work on May 20th, at 8am and 5:30pm.

A Doodle account has been created to facilitate the sign-up for potential participation.  Due to a limited number of seats, the consultant will pull a random sample of "sign-ups" to participate.  You will be notified by email if you are selected to participate on May 20th.

If you are unable to access Doodle and would like to sign-up, please notify our front office with your information.

Please sign-up on Doodle by clicking on the following link and going to "Table View":
