DES Dad's, did you miss the All Pro Dad Breakfast
last month?
If you answered yes, don't worry. Come to this month's meeting!
Friday, February 15 - 6:45 to 7:45am.
Please arrive for breakfast in the cafeteria (6:45 - 7:15am)
Program will begin in the media center at 7:20.
This month's topic is "Making Things Better"
All Pro Dad Dad's Day is a simple idea with a profound impact. It's a one-hour monthly breakfast held before school where fathers and their children meet with other dads and kids in the school cafeteria. During this time, we will discuss a wide range of family topics, spend time together, create fun memories, and leave equipped with resources to strengthen your relationship with your child.
The program is fun and free! All you need to do is attend, and if you want to purchase breakfast, you may do so in the cafeteria by using your child's "mylunchmoney" account, cash or check ($1.50 adults, $1.15 children). If you do not have a "mylunchmoney" account, please register for one at www.mylunchmoney.com before the meeting.
To help with keeping the parking lot and carpool drop off running smoothly, please park at GA Perimeter College and walk over to school.

Recycle your Pop Tops!
Did you know that the Ronald McDonald House raised $27,000 last year by recycling pop tops off of aluminum cans? We are collecting the pop tops in our DES Recycling Center so collect them at home and drop them off at school and we'll see that they get back to the Ronald McDonald House. This is one more way we can help teach our kids how recycling can help others. |
DES Jump Rope for Heart
Dunwoody Elementary School students will JUMP FOR THEIR HEARTS AND HELP SAVE LIVES. Students at elementary schools are jumping at the chance to fight heart disease and stroke, our nation's No. 1 and No. 3 killers.
Starting on Thursday, January 24th - Friday, February 22nd DES will try to raise money for the American Heart Association, which funds lifesaving heart and stroke research.
Jump Rope for Heart teaches students how physical fitness benefits the heart and shows them that volunteering can be a fun and positive experience for the whole community. The need to educate children about the importance of physical activity couldn't be more necessary! Money is NOT required in order to participate in the program; however, any money given will help and is appreciated. Please note: we ask that children not go door-to-door or ask strangers for donations. You can make donations online at www.heart.org. Our school goal is $20,000.00, so please help in any way.
Jump Rope for Heart is co-sponsored by the American Heart Association and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. Please help our students help others by making a donation. If you would like to help, call 1-800-AHA-USA1 (1-800-242-8721). You can also visit them online at www.heart.org/jump.
Thank you for helping people in our community fight America's #1 and #3 killers - heart disease and stroke!
Coach K and Mrs. Reynolds
What: Jump Rope for Heart Celebration When: TBA 3:00 - 4:00 pm Where: DES GYM
Each student that raises $200 or more will receive an invitation to the Jump Rope for Heart Celebration. These students are allowed to "Bring a Buddy!" (Student currently enrolled at DES only.) The students will enjoy pizza, juice, music and receive their prizes from the American Heart Association.
