Humor For Your Funny Bone

A mother took her little boy to church. While in church the little boy said, "Mommy, I have to pee."
The mother said to the little boy, "It's not appropriate to say the word 'pee' in church. So, from now on whenever you have to 'pee' just tell me that you have to 'whisper'."
The following Sunday, the little boy went to church with his father, and during the service said to him, "Daddy, I have to whisper."
The father looked at him and said, "Okay, just whisper in my ear."

Three girls walk into a bar; a brunette, a red head, and a green haired girl. The bar tender asks the brunette how she keeps her hair so brown.
The brunette combs her hands through her hair and says, "It's natural."
Then the bar tender asks the red head how she keeps her hair so red. She combs her hands through her hair and says, "It's natural."
Then he asks the green haired girl how she keeps her hair so green. She sneezes into her hands, combs her hands through her hair and says, "Its natural."

Greetings!
I'm thrilled with the information shared last week by Dr. Sue Morter, Dr. Carolyn Dean, Brad Yates, and Dr. Lissa Rankin on my teleseminar! We had a great time, and learned sooooo much, that unless you took copious notes, it was not possible to digest it all! Not to worry, you can still purchase the upgrade and own all 5 recordings if you wish. Click HERE for yours.
Well, summer starts this week - are you ready? How have you been doing on our 30 day fitness challenge? This is the last week of our challenge and I've included a few more ways to fit fitness into your daily schedule; they're in the next box down. This week I've got some high intensity, short burst activities for the more adventurous among us!
I'd also like to bring your attention to a new program that's getting rave reviews from my friends at The World Tapping Summit. Nick Ortner and his sister Jessica have been making headlines a lot lately, not only with the Tapping Summit, but with Nick's New York Times bestselling book by the same name, and now Jessica's new program of tapping solutions for weight loss. So many people these days are struggling to lose a little weight.
EFT is a fabulous tool to have in your possession for many things, among them, to stop cravings so you can maintain your weight loss. HERE is a link to more information on how tapping works for weight loss, hear rave reviews, and learn how you can use it to help keep on track with your fitness goals.
Check out today's announcements, humor, and enjoy a healthy, vibrant week!
Best of Health,
Kathi

Short but Powerful Exercise Bursts!
| |
Many recent studies have shown that a 20 minute high intensity interval can burn fat faster than 60 minutes of your treadmill. Many more have shown that three 10 minute segments during your day is as good as 30 minutes all at once, and may even be better, because it keeps us exercising throughout the day, which is what our bodies were intended to do! The point is that we don't have to spend an hour at the gym to get our exercise - every little bit helps!
Here is a ten minute segment that I enjoy for those days when I don't have time to fit in my usual 20-30 minutes all at once. When you do this correctly, you will be huffing and puffing for ten minutes and your body will feel the difference ten minutes can make!
I call it "Not Exactly Yoga" :)
- Start standing tall at the front end of your mat and inhale deeply while lengthening your spine.
- As you inhale again, stretch your arms up toward the ceiling and then fold forward with a flat back and walk your arms out until you are in a good strong plank.
- Complete as many slow push-ups as you can - fatigue those muscles! Then come back into Down Dog Yoga Pose and rest for 15 seconds, with deep inhales and exhales, then back to plank and try one more push-up.
- Come back into Down Dog, for no more than 15 seconds.
You can do your push-ups on your knees, or even do wall push-ups if that's what your body needs. You'll get just as much benefit, as long as you are doing the best you can.
- Now, come into reverse plank and hold yourself there in a good strong reverse plank for as long as you can, then lower yourself back down and press lightly on your fingertips, stretching your wrist in the opposite direction - breath deeply for 10 seconds as you stretch each wrist.
- Next, stand tall, placing your hand on the nearest chair for help with balance if you need to, while you complete up to 12 lunges with one leg, then repeat with your other leg. Here's a photo of what you should look like in a lunge. Make sure that your front knee is above the ankle and not out over the toes.
- Lastly, lie down on the floor and complete as many Pilates Bicycles as you can, once again fatiguing those muscles.
This series takes me ten minutes. I do about 20 push-ups, 12 lunges and 40 bicycles. Certainly not when I started it, but I have worked up to that. Start wherever you are and if you don't get a full ten minutes, march in place for a few minutes until you've reached your ten minutes!
These ten minutes are a good way to start your day. Trust me, you'll feel much better as you go through your day!
