Dear Edgewood Family,
For the last thirteen years, Paula and I have been a part of the Edgewood family. It has been the best church experience I have ever had, and do not expect ever again to be in a church as wonderful as Edgewood. The warm fellowship, the commitment to the gospel and the Lord's work, and the desire to help people begin the journey with the Lord and serve the world make Edgewood such a treasure in the Lord's sight, and a treasure in my life. I thank God for Edgewood.
Since 2011, it has been my pleasure to work with Senior Pastor Doug Langford, arm in arm serving the Lord. Pastor Doug has simply been the best co-worker I have ever served with, in a church or in an academic setting. He has always been encouraging, has always affirmed my work and valued me. His generosity of spirit knows no bounds. I cannot think of a time we have ever disagreed. He has led the church into new vistas of growth and given us a vision for the future. Yet, the Doug I talk with so often has also been a deeply caring shepherd in my life. I thank God for Doug Langford.
It is thus with a heavy heart I have some news to share with you. I have accepted a faculty position as Professor of Bible and Ministry at Warner University (one of my denominational colleges) in Lake Wales, Florida, for the fall semester. Consequently, I will be winding up my service to Edgewood in late July.
My mind goes to Acts 20:36-38, when Paul was moved to leave Ephesus, and it was a sorrowful parting, but one that was directed by the Lord. Many hours of prayer and thought and consultation have gone into this decision, but it is not an easy one.
Will you pray for Paula and myself? There are many details in such a move, and we have a house to sell, and a thousand things to think of in the next four months. Please hold us up in prayer in this transition, that we may go with God's favor. Please know that the Edgewood family will always be in my heart, and in my prayers.
For the Kingdom,
Tim Dwyer
