A random act of kindness is doing something unexpected for someone without expecting anything in return, also known as unconditional giving. It doesn't matter how big or small the gesture is and you may or may not see the benefits of your random act; but you'll feel good just doing it. 

Everyone can give unconditionally. Here are some ideas:

1. Give someone a compliment.

2. Let that car over in traffic.

3. Buy a cup of coffee or a meal for a stranger, perhaps someone behind you in line or the drive thru.

4. Take food or clothing to a shelter home for people or animals.

5. Give cookies to your mail carrier or your local fire station. What about to the tax collection clerk? [This might be a first experience for them.]

6. Let two people behind you in the grocery line go ahead of you.

7. Offer to drive someone (who is unable to drive) to a religious service or concert. 

This week I invite you to reflect on the following. 

1. Have you experienced a random act of kindness from someone in the past? If so, how did it make you feel? Did you pay it forward? 

2. What is one random act of kindness you can do this week?

3. At least one time this week consider giving unconditionally.
