THE HOLIDAYS ARE FOR-GIVING

In the holiday season gift giving is common, but forgiving is not so common.

During this Holiday season, many persons are dealing with hurts, pains, resentments, and anger about people who are currently in their lives or from the past.

This season presents an excellent opportunity to forgive others either directly or in our hearts.

SELF-FORGIVENESS - THE FIRST STEP

Forgiveness is a choice not a process. In order to forgive others, we must first learn to forgive ourselves. This means giving up our need to be perfect and acknowledging that we make mistakes. These are simply human flaws.

If we cannot love ourselves enough to forgive our own flaws, how can we forgive and understand

the flaws of others?

EXERCISE
  1. List one thing that you need to forgive about yourself.
  2. What are the ways you can begin to do that?
  3. Whom do you want to forgive? Do you commit to forgive them before Jan.1st?
  4. What do you think are the benefits of forgiving yourself and others?
[I'd really like to hear about your experience in forgiving yourself and/or someone else. If I can assist you in anyway, just let me know.]

I have work to do."
