DEFINITION |
I'm defining procrastination as putting off something that you know you need to do now. In other words being a "putter-offer".
|
EXAMPLES |
Some examples are putting off things like: Joining the exercise club, beginning a nutrition plan, writing a thank you note, starting a project at work, cleaning out the garage or refrigerator, having an important conversation with a team member, friend or family member, enrolling in that course to improve your knowledge, or getting help to quit a habit.

WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL WITH PROCRASTINATION? |
According to Sandra Upson, managing editor of the Scientific American MIND, chronic procrastinators have a tendency to be more depressed and more anxious. Their thoughts tend to be harshly self-critical, such as "I am just too stupid to get this done" or "if I don't complete this project all my efforts have been wasted". Such negative self-talk tends to make a person feel defective or lacking and can alter a person's self-esteem.
