YOUR DAY BEGINS THE NIGHT BEFORE
|
In our last issue I offered tips for the ten golden minutes before going to sleep.
Today I'll offer tips on the twenty golden minutes upon awakening in the morning.
Interestingly, the positive qualities of those first twenty minutes are actually determined the night before.

TYPICAL THOUGHTS & CONCERNS BEFORE GOING TO SLEEP |
Typically we go to sleep with worries and concerns about our life and the lives of others.
Examples would be health problems, unemployment, job insecurity, conflicts, finances, work load, deadlines, difficult bosses, car pools, being on time, car problems, family issues, relationship issues, holiday stress, past due bills, tuition, illness, etc., etc., etc.

THE TWO STEP ACTION PLAN |
1) Create a plan at night that gives you something to look forward to in the morning.
2) The plan might include one or more of the following MORNING JOYS:
- Meditation/Prayer
- Motivational/Spiritual
- Reading the comics/crossword puzzles/reading the news
- Stretching
- Yoga
- Walking
- Writing/Journaling
- Running
- Lifting Weights
- Playing a musical instrument or singing
- Listening to music
- Playing with your pet
- Quality Time/Hugging your loved ones
- Calling up a friend
- Cooking
- Going to cafe
- Coffee
- Others...

Exercise
|
This week I invite you to do the following:
- Create, establish, or list your own habits for your MORNING JOYS.
-
You may find it easier to establish your regular MORNING JOYS by starting on a weekend when you won't have the concerns of the work week.
- At night pick one or more MORNING JOYS that will jump start your day.
