The Other Side Of Success-"Oops"

The most recent series have been on Success-creating successful habits, obstacles of success, and being overwhelmed. Today we'll look at the other side of success.

Dear ,

Welcome to Issue 240.  The mission of "Marvelous Mondays" is to offer an inspirational thought, a practical exercise, some humor, or a simple tip to jump-start your week and to enhance your life, business, outlook or relationships.

Please feel free to forward "Marvelous Mondays" to others who will enjoy it.

"OOPS"

The town of Benidorm in Alicante, Spain has received some attention in the headlines. What will be Europe's tallest residential skyscraper is in the final stages of construction. However it was just realized this 47 story building has one basic flaw, there are only elevator shafts for the first 20 stories of the building. The architects made a mistake. By comparison, our mistakes look minimal.

REFLECT

Reflect on the moments in your life and/or career that have been an "oops" for you and how you handled it. If it was a few years ago, have you learned new techniques or tools to handle those "oops" moments differently? All humans make mistakes. It's what we do with those mistakes that make it a learning experience. There may be several "oops" moments along the pathway of success.

EXERCISE

This week I invite you to do the following:

  1. Write down your "oops" moments
  2. What did you learn from that "oops" moment?
  3. Can you even laugh at an "oops" moment?

  4. How can you prevent "oops" moments in the future?
