Did you know...
You can use Lynda.com FREE through your library? Lynda.com offers a huge variety of training in topics such as business, creative endeavors and technology skills. Through your library, you have unlimited access to the more than 4,500 courses including 175,000 video tutorials, and more are added every day! You can access Lynda.com in the browser on any computer or hand-held device (don't use the Lynda.com app for library access.) Lynda.com is best viewed using Chrome, Firefox and Safari. All three branches of the St. Mary's County Library will be closed on Monday, May 30 in observance of Memorial Day. Our online services are always available on www.stmalib.org.

Summer Reading Starts in June!
Programs for babies, kids, teens and adults!
St. Mary's County has something for everyone this summer with Summer Reading Programs for all ages! Babies and Kids are invited to the Summer Reading Games 'On Your Mark, Get Set, READ!', while teens will 'Get in the Game! READ!' and adults will 'Exercise your Mind, READ!'
Babies, kids and teens programs will start on Monday, June 13. The adult summer reading program will start on Wednesday, June 1. All programs will end on Saturday, August 13. Play for prizes and to gain entries into the Grand Prize drawings that will be held in August. More information will be on www.stmalib.org in May or come in to any branch.

Project Kindness a Success!
Thank you for all of your donations!
Through the Project Kindness program that was held April 10 - 16, the three St. Mary's County Library branches collected 723 items for local non-profit organizations. All of these donations will be given to organizations throughout St. Mary's County that serve individuals in need.
Thank you to everyone who donated! Your donations will make a difference to those in our community.

The Annual Dinner will be held at Elements on Monday, May 16
Join the Friends of the Library and come to the Annual Dinner on Monday, May 16 at 6 p.m., at Elements restaurant in Lexington Park. Facebook, YikYak, Twitter, just some of the countless social media tools out there. Sometimes these tools can be useful; other times they can prevent you from getting a job. Drafting Disaster: A Teen Writing Workshop
This is a workshop for motivated teen writers that want to share and foster their talents together, for those who want to harness the written word's ability to empower and free people.
