A Note from Father Steve
Dear sisters and brothers,
I will be attending the CREDO conference on the Gulf Coast May 6-13. The conference, by invitation only and sponsored by the Episcopal Church's Pension Group, offers the opportunity for priests of the church to reflect on key aspects of their lives (financial, health, spiritual and vocational) and to discern the future direction of their life and ministry. I am grateful for this opportunity, and ask for your prayers.
During my absence, the assisting clergy will be presiding at our worship services and available for pastoral care. Deacon Nancy will be coordinating pastoral care response during this time, so please contact her should you need or desire the ministry of the clergy. I give thanks for their ministry, not only to our parishioners, but to me, as well. I will be back in the office on Tuesday, May 14, and look forward to celebrating the Feast of Pentecost with you on May 19. |

O God, the King of glory, you have exalted your only Son Jesus Christ with great triumph to your kingdom in heaven: Do not leave us comfortless, but send us your Holy Spirit to strengthen us, and exalt us to that place where our Savior Christ has gone before; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen. |

Enroll your children in St Peter's Youth Enrichment Program (YEP!) this summer. Parishioner Catherine Thomson will lead YEP participants on mini tours of the Art Institute of Chicago.Linked under the theme "I Love to Tell the Story", each tour will engage participants in close looking and discussion to reveal stories central to our faith and religious practices depicted in several works from the Art Institute's vast collection. These are not art history lectures; these are inter-active activities designed to expand awareness of the many ways core religious themes have been communicated over centuries and across cultures. Enrollment and admission are FREE for all children and the first three adults who agree to act as chaperones. To sign up or for more details, email Catherine or call (773) 827-4703.
