American Hero Hosta


 

We are proud to offer the American Hero Hosta in support of US military families. 

American Hero is a tough, reliable plant with great foliage veriegation that remains vibrant all season long. The leaves have wide green edges and cream to pure white centers that are speckled with green. Mature plants turn into dense clups with somewhat twisted leaves. Overall this is a very nice hosta!

 

 
This Weeks Recipe:

Fourth of July Jello

Ingredients:

3 (6oz) packages raspberry flavored gelatin mix

3 1/4 C boiling water

1 (.25oz) packages unflavored gelatin

1/2 C cold water

1 C half-and-half

1 C white sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 (8oz) package cream cheese (softened)

1 C boiling water

1 (21oz) can blueberry pie filling

Flag Decoration:

1 container Whipped Topping

Strawberries and/or Raspberries

Blueberries

DIRECTIONS:

1. In a medium bowl, dissolve 2 packages of the raspberry gelatin in 3 1/4 cups boiling water. Pour into a 9x13" pan and refrigerate until firm.

2. In a medium saucepan, whisk together unflavored gelatin and 1/2 cup cold water. Whisk in the half and half, sugar, and vanilla. Cook over medium heat until hot but NOT BOILING. Remove from heat and stir in the softened cream cheese. Spread over the raspberry gelatin layer.

3. In a medium bowl, dissolve the remaining package of raspberry gelatin in 1 cup boiling water. Stir in the blueberry pie filling and pour over the cream cheese layer.

4. For the flag decoration, layer up to 1 container of Whipped Topping over the blueberry layer. Decorate with blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries to look like the American Flag
