Neonicotinoids
What's all the Buzz About?
Neonicotinoids are a class of insecticides that are chemically related to nicotine. Like nicotine, they act on certain kinds of receptors in the nerve synapses of nerve cells, thus making them more toxic to insects than regular insecticides.  The concern revolves around three separate, but somewhat related subjects- bee decline, colony collapse disorder and pollinator deaths.
What is Beier's Doing About it?
We have committed to not using any neonicotinoid insecticides at our greenhouse. Consideration of the insecticide will only be acknowledged once there is scientific data to support the safe usage of this insecticide. Our main sources of plant supply are also working very hard to eliminate the use of neonicotinoid pesticides. 
 What is Beier's Doing About it?
 Refrain from the use of neonicotinoid insecticides. If use in necessary, be sure the follow manufacturer directions carefully.
