Hello

Had a great trip this month to the Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion National Parks.  Perfect time of year to go.  A little windy at times but the grass was green (as far as deserts can be green!)

 GETTING ORGANIZED in 2013

Getting your junk drawers in order?  Here are some ways to contain and control.

May - Altoid Containers

Use Altoid canisters to contain small desk items.  Be sure to clearly label the canisters.  If you want to be OCD about this, put them in alphabetical order.

Plan ahead.  Be sure to measure the depth of your drawer before consuming all those Altoids.

Very small rectangular food containers work well too.

May - Yardstick Dividers

This drawer is divided by using yardsticks.  Great way to separate shallow or unusual size drawers.

The sticks are scored and bent into shape.

May - Foamboard Dividers

These dividers are made from foam board.   You can find foam board in any office store like Staples, or craft/variety stores.

Like the yardstick dividers these are made by partially scoring and folding the foam into a "U" shape.  Glue or tape the "U"s together.  Make sure the height of each side of the "U" is shorter than the depth of the drawer.

May - Box Dividers

Another way to separate items is to use box bottoms.  Any box will do.  Some may need to have sides reinforced with duct tape (you can buy brightly colored duct tape now).

My favorite boxes were bank check boxes or kids shoe boxes.

You can then staple or tape the boxes together to keep them stable in the drawer.

This probably isn't the perfect fit, but it's cheap to do.

 May - Shelf Bracket Dividers

Now here is an interesting way to divide deep drawers (like for clothes).  Use wooden shelf brackets and screw them to the back of the drawers.

Be sure to measure the depth and width of the drawers so you buy the correct size brackets.  You might have to do a little trimming.

Home Depot or hardware stores will have these brackets.

May - Container Gripper Dots

Lastly, after you have decided on what type of dividers to use, Velcro sticky dots can prevent the dividers from sliding around.

Genius!
