Hello

A New Year Hello!

The flu bug hit our house, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas.  Then I got the Pinterest bug and starting finding all sorts of amazing organizing tips.  Then I realized it's been several months since my last issue (thanks to reminders from my friends).  Then I figured I better get my act together.

This is what Pinterest is all about: Pinterest lets you organize and share all the interesting things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes.  Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests.

I always thought of Pinterest as a time-suck (which it can be, if not careful).  But now I see the organizing value of this site.  I know many people print out pages from websites for later reference but end up with more paper clutter.  On your Pinterest site you create your own pinboard categories (my pinboards are: family, recipes, home, garden, organizing, travel, and more).  Think of a pinboard as a cork board where you pin your notes.  After you've pinned something to your board, you can allow others to see it (or not).  Each pin is identified by a photo and comment.  When you click on the photo it will take you to the orginal web page.  Many of these are from blogs where you can find even more interest-related information (this is the time-suck part). No more printing!  You can also post your own comments or personal photos.
