The Sunday Club families were hard at work on Saturday afternoon, 30 January, to prepare for the next day's Sunday Club Candlemas service. This year the children decorated candles which were blessed and given out to the congregation during the Candlemas service.

Because Shrove Tuesday this year comes during the school winter break, the Sunday Club chose the Feast of Candlemas to celebrate the annual pancake party, with a pancake lunch on Sunday 31 January after the service, 2 days before Candlemas. Click here for more ...

A special collection was taken at the end of the church service and during the lunch in support of the World Day of Lepers and the work of the Fondation Raoul Follereau.
More than €1,400 were collected for this important cause.

The holy season of Lent begins in earnest on
Ash Wednesday (10th February) with the Penitential Service at 18:30. Thus the season of Lent begins with this powerful acknowledgement of our own weakness and sin. Last year's Palm Sunday palm crosses are burned and the ashes are used to mark the foreheads of the penitent while the priest intones, "Remember you are dust and unto dust you will return." Join us for this year's Ash Wednesday service and give some thought things you might do (fasting, abstinence, volunteerism, study, prayer) to observe a holy and encouraging season of Lent.

Each year on the Fouth Sunday of Lent (Mothering Sunday for us at Saint Paul's) the ecumenical community gathers for a Lenten service of prayer. This year, celebrating our common tradition of Morning and Evening Prayer, the Christian churches in Monaco will come to Saint Paul's for Anglican Choral Evensong with the support of the enlarged (Carol Service) Choir. do plan to join us 6 March at 5 p.m.
Anglican Retreat at N.D. de Laghet
