David Tugman much improved!
Helen Tugman and their daughter Claire were delighted to find David awake and very much himself today when they visited him in the ICU at Princess Grace Hospital. As many know, David suffered a massive heart attack two weeks ago and had been in a comma ever since. Helen had reported a few hopeful signs in recent days: eyes opening briefly, some recognition; but today when Father Walter visited, David was fully conscious, full of good humour, and despite difficulty breathing, clearly enjoying his visitors. Please continue to hold David, Helen and their family in your prayers. Prayer works!
Saint Paul's Indaba Retreat: Saturday 21 June
Sanctuaire Notre Dame de Laghet On Saturday 21st June members of the Saint Paul's Church community are invited to gather for a day of "Indaba" prayer and discussion. This day of Indaba Retreat will take place at the Santuraire de N.D. de Laghet.
The day will begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude by 4:30 p.m. a full lunch is offered at the Sanctuary.

Father David Hart, the new Anglican Chaplain at St John's Church , Menton, will lead this day of Indaba Retreat.

Father David writes, "Our gathering on Saturday 21 June is perhaps better referred to as an Indaba. In traditional African culture, people get together to sort out the issues that affect them all, where everyone has a voice and where there is an attempt to find a common mind or a common story that everyone is able to tell when they go away from it: 'This is how we approached it. This is what we heard. This is where we arrived as we prayed and thought and talked together.' Indaba group
We will use Luke's story of the "Road to Emmaus" (24.13-35) as the scriptural text from which we will begin to find a common story, a common mind. Our journey will be within, between and beyond ourselves."

For more information or to register for this Indaba day of retreat, send an email at retreat@stpaulsmonaco.com or call Father Walter at 93 30 71 06
Anglican Churches on the Riviera Picnic: 29 May

Ascension day is 29th May this year and the Anglican Church of Lorgues with Fayence has invited all the chaplaincies of the Riviera to come and share in Worship and Fellowship in Lorgues at the home of the Massey's. (Arc-en-Provence)

Riviera Church PicnicWorshiping and having fun in the garden comes naturally to the folk in Lorgues as their church meets there during the summer months each month. Ascension day has also always been an important date for the former Prasada Community and it will be good to continue the celebration of Ascension in our new church. This year is the 25th anniversary of that community in France and Sister Jean , who founded it with Sister Cecile, will be back in France to share the day with us all. So we hope you will be able to join us Please mark this day off in your diary as you are both welcome and needed !

The Anglican Church of Lorgues with Fayence.

We will be having a short Communion Service here before lunch so everyone has a chance to celebrate the Ascension. Bernadette Daly, who is a Church of Ireland minister and helps us here in Lorgues and Fayence when she is in France, will share a few thoughts with us on this special day and its meaning for each one of us.

The proposed timetable for the day is:

    • 10.45 Coffee
    • 11.15 Ascension Communion Service.
    • 12.15 Picnic Lunch ( Bring and Share )

After lunch you are welcome to use the pool or enjoy The garden or simply catch up with what is going on in the other Chaplaincies along the Riviera. We expect to finish by about 4.00 but there is no timetable for when you may want to head for home. Directions to Arc-en-Provence will be available a bit nearer the date.
