Is your zipForm Plus Access Denied?
Association dues deadline has passed. REALTOR® dues in the amount of $449 were sent out in December, deadline to remit payment was February 16, 2016. Any unpaid accounts have been inactivated and a $44.90 late fee has been attached. In addition, your zipForm Plus access has been suspended. To remit payment, call FAR at 559-490-6400. 
C.A.R. Legal Updates
Social Networking - Social networking and media Web sites such as Facebook, Instagram ®Twitter®, Wordpress®, Blogster®, Active Rain®, YouTube®, Yelp®, and LinkedIn®, as well as personal and public Blogs (such as Real Estate Tomato and Mashable) have revolutionized the business world. Social media can be quite beneficial for increasing business opportunities, but there are a few legal issues about which REALTORS® should be aware when using social media.

Internet Data Exchange (IDX) -  Through IDX, brokers exchange consent to display each other's listings on the Internet. Consent for such display is presumed unless a listing broker affirmatively notifies the MLS that the listing broker refuses to permit display (either on a blanket or on a listing-by-listing basis). If a broker refuses on a blanket basis to permit the display of its listings, then that broker may not download or frame the aggregated MLS data of other brokers.

Virtual Office Websites - All MLSs are required to adopt and implement NAR's official VOW rules and policies. C.A.R. has adopted the VOW rules and policy into its C.A.R. Model MLS Rules, which are the suggested rules and regulations for an MLS operated as a committee of a local Association of REALTORS® in California.

Local Candidate Recommendation Committee (LCRC)
There are 4, three-year terms open for the LCRC.  To be eligible, FAR REALTORS® must be in "good standing" and have made the minimum $49 2016 contribution.  If you meet the requirements and would like to be nominated, please contact Gerard Lozano by Friday March 4, 2016.   

If there are more nominees than open terms, an election will be held and ballots will be sent to eligible FAR REALTORS® as described above.  LCRC is part of the CA Real Estate PAC (CREPAC), state version.  LCRC funds are used to contribute to candidates for local office.
